did he come back :p

joking aside, dont worry
pursue some private scholarships!
or, consider other schools that give merit-based aid..and then go to dartmouth for grad school

yeah right merit based aid to me?! forget it...

look, there is no harm in trying to find some alternatives..

yeah I know that but I can't seem to find any private scholarships this is India man...

apply rd to dartmouth. It's not impossible that they'll give you substantial aid.

Dartmouth will cover 100% of your need IF you get accepted. Don't worry too much now, everything will work out in the end and you'll be fine.

How's the SAT Prep going?

Why should he apply RD? I acknowledge that his financial status won't make life easier, but I think everyone who feels like Dartmouth (or whatever university) is the best for him or her should apply early. At least that's what ED is for.

@Rister_Chutophs: When are you going to take the SAT?

Has anyone taken an AP exam?

My SAT prep is going great! I am aiming for atleast 2200 :)

The problem with applying early is that if they reject me during Early one way or the other all the ivies kind of blacklist me..... :( thats what is said in Ivy members statement

danpo, I've taken the SAT I in May (waiting anxiously for scores... was my first time... i actually don't want to retake but i was pretty nervous and everything..i'll see in a few days)

I'm going to take 3 Subject Test in June (same date when ajay takes his SAT I)

you?

ajay, this is wrong! they don't exchange their information; getting rejected by one Ivy early has absolutely no influence on your chances at the other Ivies RD.

well that is what I was thinking.

I think I misunderstood the post somewhere...anyways I will apply ED. Lets see what happens. Doubt is just waste of energy. ;)

to hell with people. I will take the damn risk. I am applying ED :)

If Dartmouth accepts me I am a happy bastard! Otherwise there is always MIT, Stanford or Harvard:D

yeah ajay, don't lose hope. I know you will do great. But best of luckfrom my side.
as for me, i am quite busy with the TOEFL preparations and the Engineering Entrance preparation(though i don't want to do the later one). I am at the crossroads now. But one of my friend there at ktm (who is a member of this thread)is helping me a lot. thanks to ajay for this thread!
and naidu, how r u doing? Hello to debate, rister, renak, and all(i can't type all user names here)
i will be late to reply due to my hectic schedule but anyways, make this thread a smash hit!

the TOEFL? oh well, didn't even think about this monster yet...
i'm really good in suppressing thoughts, doubts, anxities, duties, etc.

What do you think about the importance of SAT Subject Tests for internationals? Can they be of some help, assuming one scores >750, to offset bad grades?

yeah they can. Because international education system being different SAT II provide platform for colleges to measure international student's capability. :)

I don't think the SAT Subject Tests can offset in grades since your grades are still an essential part of your application. I assume that these tests can, however, help to put things into relations. Don't worry about grades though, that's not everything.

I took the AP Physics exam last week and had the same "problem" that you had: I was a bit nervous and I'm afraid that I performed very poor. Anyway, despite the heap of wasted money I think it was a useful experience, because now I'm more or less familiar with standardized tests which will definitely be an advantage when taking the SAT and the TOEFL. I think I'll take that SATs in October and apply early at Stanford, but I'm not sure yet.

I am done with my AP tests!!!! Now I just have this empty feeling.....
I am sure you guys will get into any college you want --> I mean your stats are amazing <--- You guys just don't believe me though!!!!

@ danpo - I took the physics exam too... the last question was just to see if you could waste time

I'm retaking the SAT's in october too. and I am applying early to Stanford too 0__o

BTW, panos, stop making fun of my username -- I think its going to start crying soon :'(

well I am talking about internationals in general. In india every school has a different question paper for tests. So some might get a easy one and others might get a really difficult one.

ok naidu and danpo will be having a rush at the stanford,i think i will drop out my idea of applying ED to stanford (I am hopeless).Ajay told me that I can't apply to colleges that require SAT II subject tests, but today i made sure of it. I can still apply for an ED to a college that demands SATII, if I send them a letter stating that my SAT II results will be sent directly to them.
