Good luck to everyone doing unifieds this weekend!
Thanks actingDad, the numbers make sense now! I think I had a minor panic attack last weekend after Purchase and Rutgers, I mean I knew the numbers were bad, but that many?! Now I’m back to ok again
Is anyone here auditioning for UIUC? Anyone know anything about the program/audition? The drive there for us is 13 hours, so what you said is true, it’s our second trip there and we really have great talks on our long trips. This time my husband is coming too so I’m not sure if that’s better or not lol

CM: Wow 13 hours! You are awesome folk to be doing this for your D.
She is really lucky to have your support.
Safe travels.
AD: Thanks for your friend’s wise words, it helps to hear them at this juncture.

I have been a long time reader to this forum and it has helped very much! My S has auditioned at UNCSA and CMU so far and we are on our way to NYC this weekend for Marymount Manhattan, SUNY Puchase, and maybe some walk-ins at Unifieds if possible. Break a leg to everyone!
My S has been accepted at UNC Greensboro (no audition until the 2nd semester for the BFA program) and academic acceptances to WCU, ECU, and William Peace University with auditions still pending. Thank you for all of the information during this process!

Hi, cjenny! You might want to add your son’s UNC-G acceptance to the 2013 acceptance threads–they aren’t pinned at the top yet, but I think they’re near the top of the forum–just copy/paste the current list and add yours in as appropriate. Thanks, and congratulations to your son–hope his auditions go well! :)

This is such a wonderful group of people - welcome to everyone and best wishes as results start rolling in. I think florencey gave us a new theme song, in the Juilliard audition thread: Stand by Me!

We leave tomorrow for Coastal Carolina. My D is ready to get back into the audition and visit groove. The last time she interviewed was mid December at a regional event for Point Park. With a string of academic acceptances, we are both very anxious for an artistic one. It’s going to be a chilly weekend at the beach! :)

Can’t wait to hear how it goes, ugadog! Fingers crossed that you D has a great experience.

Am I an overly obsessive stage parent in that I’m having a difficult time dealing with the fact that my daughter is doing four auditions this weekend in NYC with me stuck at home? (a rhetorical question for sure)

^No, ActingDad. I feel for you. Hope all goes well for your daughter.

ActingDad, I am so sorry!! She is in good hands though. Feel better!!!

ActingDad—I’ll make a deal with you. Next week my daughter is doing 8 auditions in 4 days at the Chicago Unifieds. Meet me there, and we’ll split them in half. I’ll be happy to share some of my parental obsession with you. Hang in there! :-)

ugadog99 - Enjoy your trip to CCU and say hi to my D! She’ll be running the auditions tomorrow. And enjoy Pippin!! The students got to work with Ben Vereen (the original Leading Player!!) last week and had an amazing time working with him. I’ve seen pics from the show and it looks terrific! Safe travels and happy interview day!

Yikes! I am sending your D “good health” vibes, OddDad. 8 in a weekend - whew! But I am soooooooo glad she is doing them all. Break a leg!

ActingDad, I would feel the same way! Thank god for cellphones.

photomom5 – thanks for the well wishes but health is fine (I write while knocking on my wood desk); wife/mom has weekend duty in NYC. (we have the stereotypical mom gets son and dad gets daughter household so we’ll see how that works)

OddDad – thanks for the offer and I love Chicago (grew up about 2 hours away in WI) but I’m back on duty next weekend with a drive to Syracuse; and the next weekend with a drive to Ithaca; and the next weekend with a drive to BU! I could not make the schedule work to do Syracuse and Ithace on the same weekend. Best wishes! (am I permitted to say that if I can’t use the “l” word; the break a leg thing is just too strange for an analytical patent attorney to say)

OddDad, if you would not mind and have the time, I would really love to hear about you and your daughters experience at Chicago Unifieds next week. My daughter is a junior and we plan on going to this location next year.

I hope she does well!

Well there’s a small envelope on the table from purchase
my D doesn’t get home until 5:30 to open it but I don’t think she even has to, to know what it is.
ActingDad it’s really not that far for you to see how things are going in NYC lol. You could always jump on a train and drop in for a few hours! Mine wants me to go home early, for her to take a later train alone so she can hang out with her friends after the auditions! Lol I don’t think so :)

Threed—thanks for your best wishes. Either I or my daughter (or both of us) will check in about our experiences, though I can’t promise any updates during the audition process. We’ll just see how it goes!

ActingDad…see what happens when you get old and try reading this on my iPhone! Thought stuck was sick. It is quite freezing up here, I must say!

Marbleheader—forgot to thank you for your thoughts. Should be an “interesting” several days.
