Class of 2013 from Nepal

Hey, personal essay is f*ing me

Anyone please suggest me the appropriate college for me
CR-650
Maths-790
Writing-650
SAT 2 - full in Chemistry and Maths 2
GPA-4
I m planning to apply for Lafayette, is it appropriate?

bnks 8:
again'you got really good scores
why lafayette?
did you really like it
or you just want to play safe..
one advice: there's nothing as close to "playing safe"
if i had your scores.. i'd definitely aim higher...
but if you really liked lafayette
go ahead
good luck

us college application process is soo unpredictable that
you could well be accepted at colgate but rejected from franklin and marshall
so just make sure you search all the colleges very well
like a college
and go for it...

@kushalpurie...1st thnks..tyo caldwell ma ED garne bhaneko chai just to express the limit of my frustration....I will be applying to Kenyon, which is extremely unpredictable, under ED...Kenyon apply garna sabai factors haru fitting 6a...excellent grades(4A.1b), rank(top5%), very tough rigor of course, avg ECs..impressive work exp/voluntary works and not to forget SAT(should get 1440 composite, not stellar, but not too bad).....but still chance of getting in is so unpredictable!!!

I was looking for a less competitive college where it wud b easier to get in...tara I have found none...1st I considered F&M..tara I dint trust its aid policy!!..If not kenyon, for RD caldwell and the likes are always there to acept us at last!!

kushal

lafayette is my dream college, so i m applying there
deadly coll like cornell, franklin w olin coll of engineering are in my RD

@ sssat,

We are not Psycho.........but we are ** ECCENTRIC!!.......And if you don't know what **ECCENTRICITY means, I'll define it for you.....I define it as "The border line between MADNESS(psycho according to you) and GENIUS".....And It'll soon be seen .....At the most a year...

A small suggestion: Do not underrate anything or anyone........Napattaune khola le bagauncha!!!

BTW sssat where did you get in??

Well guys why are u all worried about EDing at the same school as if there were a Quota???????????I know diversity may matter but go for your dream school....Always follow your dreams no matter where it takes you.....

And guys learn to dream big!!!! I was planning to apply to STANFORD for ED.....But now I've changed my mind..coz they are very stingy....I'll not be applying ED...But I'll be applying there for RD ...

And I agree with kushalpurie.....Scores and grades are just a measure to see if you can handle the course load...Those are nothing more than that!!????.......As MIT puts: We do not admit scores, we admit people!
So choose the right place for yourself....That's what I can tell ya all....

I nowadays feel that these threads are just for fun....Let's make it more informative...Let's post our STATS, intended majors, Colleges and our views, and let's make it more pragmatic.....That would make Application process more easier and fun.

#296 may not apply to all colleges and universities !!!!!!!!!!!!!

cui bono:
you best represented my sentiments...
go ahead
be proud of yourself
fear noone
be yourself..

hello guys
i m applying for computer engineering or computer science
and im RD my choices are Cornell, Franklin W Olin Cpllege Of engineering, harvey mudd, harvard
so anyone sure about his/her coll/unis
post it

For all the Pms I have recieved in the past few days..let me make it clear to you all that whitman doesnot have a ED plan for people asking for need based financial aid...its just the Rd
Good luck everyone

Cornell is damn poor, don't expect to be funded. Also Cali colls lai Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Claremont Mckenna - all these are goddamn stingy. Pomona gives full rides to just 6 students every year. But it's RD, if you are geared up for the frustratingly dull essays, go on. It doesn't hurt, except for limiting your 15 college list.

And I believe I read it somewhere - Harvey Mudd has just merit based scholarship for intls. And to qualify, you have to score 700+ in every section of the SAT1 and 750+ in two SAT subject tests, one of which must be Math2. Check these things out first, I am not exactly sure.

yeaaaahhh

love Colby love Maine

I guess I'm in for colby too.

@BNKS8:I am from ktm................I haven't yet decided where to ED......I may just go for Lafayette but not too sure about it............I guess I too will apply ED at Caldwell college
Stats so far: rank top 5-10%................SAT I and SAT II: Don't know(Not taken yet;hopefully 1450/2100 in SAT I)...........Ec's: Don't know how exactly to categorise it.............Letter of rec. Should be amazing.............Essays:Working on it(I know I need to get it done with pretty soon)............Volunteer work:Not bad..............Work experience:Yes.
Major:Undecided(Would probably like to take something math\physics related)..............I was just wondering wht exactly would be qualified as a good\great\decent\poor ec.
Could someone please share their EC.

@@@ cui bono ssat got in at Georgetown University.
Also Kushal Purie is absolutely right, scores does not matter, it's you, if you have faith in yourself you'll get in at good college.

P.S. There are so many lacs with 3/2 engg.. like my univ has 3/2 with Columbia Univ and RPI. I might be going for 3/2 at Columbia if they provide me aid, there is little chance of getting aid in 3/2 engg

@ BNKS8 New Englang rocks...BTW I'm in ohio and it's soo dull not like new england ;)
