Class of 2013: How many schools of each difficulty do you have on your list?

<p>I'm mainly making this to make sure my list is a good size, and that I have an appropriate amount of schools of each difficulty for me. Also, I'm curious about how everyone else is doing in their lists.</p>

<p>My list consists of (according to my college counsellor, I disagree a little since he used my SAT and not my ACT, I'll put what I think in parentheses):</p>

<p>Reach: 5 (5 or 6, depending on how much legacy will help)
Possible: 3 (2 or 3, once again conditional on legacy)
Likely: 2 (2)</p>

<p>So, I have a total of 10 schools, what's your make up like? Do you think mine's okay?</p>

<p>Reach: 4
Match: 3
Safety: 3</p>

<p>Reach-5-6
Match-1</p>

<p>That’s it. Literally.</p>

<p>You guys have such small lists. I don’t have enough confidence in my stats to apply to only 6 or 7 schools.</p>

<p>For me it’s:</p>

<p>Reach - 5
Match - 5-6
Safety - 3-4</p>

<p>I’ll probably take off 2 or 3 schools after visiting all the ones I haven’t seen yet but otherwise I pretty much have my final list which will be either 12 or 13 schools.</p>

<p>All of my schools are reaches, realistically. I know I’ll get in academically to all the schools I’m applying to, but my chances of getting into almost any given program artistically (my intended major is Music Theatre) is like getting into an Ivy League.</p>

<p>As a result, I will end up with about 14 schools on my final list.</p>

<p>Once the standardized test scores come back (ACT+SATIIs) hopefully I can move one or two reaches down to “matches”.</p>

<p>academic-wise they’re all low matches or safeties. it’s the ECs that worry me though, so I can’t really say how difficult they will be for me</p>

<p>I don’t really understand the point of applying to more than one safety. Someone want to explain? </p>

<p>Also, most of my “reaches” are for competitive merit scholarships, like USC Trustee, Tulane DHS, BU Trustee etc. so it only makes sense to apply to as much as I can.</p>

<p>I have two safeties because they are extremely safe, and it’s a worst case scenario kind of thing. Right now I’m hoping that I can get into at least one of my matches though.</p>
