Class of 2013: If you could do it all over again...

I was ranked in the top 5% of my class and had a very high GPA, but clearly that was not enough. My scores were only above average, nothing too spectacular, and I guess my curriculum was not rigorous enough. My reaches were a little too reach-y. Obviously I was very disappointed with my results and wish I could do it all over again. Here are some schools I would consider applying to if I had the chance again:

College of the Holy Cross
Syracuse University
University of Pittsburgh
Muhlenberg College
Ohio State University
Catholic University of America
Old Dominion University
Wake Forest University
Clemson University
Tulane University

So, my question is, where do YOU wish you applied? Feel free to share your story!

Where did you apply, and where id you get in/not get in?

I didn’t really want this thread to be about me, lol, I was just curious if anyone else felt the same way I did.

I ended up going to the school of my dreams but I wish I applied to Yale, UChicago, and Princeton JUST to see if I would get in. The ivies pretty much hated me last year

termah420, you could always transfer to one of the schools you prefer.

If I could do it all over again I would really change my dedication during 9th grade. Did not really care until it was too late and messed up my GPA. Sometimes we don’t think about the future at that age and make bad decisions. I Would have gotten into some great schools otherwise.

I stopped all applications after I got into Penn State, my top choice. I do wish I had applied to UNC-Chapel Hill, just to see what would happen. I’m fairly sure I would have gotten in, but in NC that’s like your measure of success for most people if you get into Carolina or not. I wouldn’t have gone though. I’ve been a Duke fan for all my life I couldn’t turn my back on them now

In virginia the measure of sucess is UVA.

I kind of floated through high school w/o trying, if I could do it over again I wouldn’t change anything. Then again, I am quite happy with were I’m going and the opportunities I’ll have. I feel like any college is what you make of it, nearly all of them have unique and interesting programs that you can go for, so if you don’t settle you can enjoy college wherever you go. Honestly I would probably try to enjoy high-school more, as from here on out every summer is going to be filled with internships/work/classes etc. and the care free freedom of summer in high-school will be a distant memory.
