Class of 2013 Profile?

It might be too early for this, but does anybody have the admissions statistics (such as acceptance rate, middle 50% range for GPA/SAT/ACT...) for the University of Michigan's class of 2013? Alexandre, would you be willing to share some of that information if you have it by any chance? If you don't feel comfortable doing so, I completely understand, I am just interested in seeing the average stats for my class.

The official data has not been released yet. The mid 50% unweighed GPA range is usually around 3.7-3.9. The mid 50% ACT should be 27-31 but I have a feeling it should go up ever so slightly to 28-32. The mid 50% SAT should be around 1240-1440, give or take 20 points either way. Michigan will probably not release the official numbers until the fall.

Did the university report any estimate of the number of applications it received this year? I don’t recall seeing any news in the U-M press.

There has been no offical word on how many applied and how many were admitted. I estimate that 29,000-30,000 applied and roughly 12,500-13,500 were admitted (lower yield rate this year as a result of the financial meltdown). Our acceptance rate this year should be anywhere between 42% and 46%.

This link, which gives some admissions statistics for the Class of 2013, was posted on another UMich thread this morning:

Applications to U-M for 2009-10 reach historic numbers

Is anyone else as shocked as I am that they had almost a 50% acceptance rate this year? I’m not frustrated OR relieved at this news, I just was genuinely surprised that it rose 8% from last year. If anything, I thought it would have plummeted this year.
Also, Our freshman class is going to be huge this year, with over 6,400 people who have already paid their enrollment deposits. That’s almost 1,000 more than last year’s freshman class. Isn’t that insane?

Wow yeah. Maybe they’re trying to raise more money from tuition, idk. It looks like a fewer percentage enrolled though. Either way, I’m glad they’re accepting more students; I’ll have a better chance of getting in :D

I hope they post 2009 Freshman Class Profile soon.
