My friend really (really) wants to go to Carnegie Mellon and she was just told that she would have to wait until JUNE 1st to hear the final response. She was waitlisted and essentially…waitlisted yet again. I am really worried for her because she really really likes this school. Can someone please tell me what her chances are? Is there anything to do to improve the odds? She applied last year early and was deferred, enrolled at a performing arts school in downtown Pittsburgh, where she is currently a freshman, and reapplied this year only to be waitlisted again…twice basically.

I’m just extremely worried for her. To be a dreamer, to keep on trying and pushing and working…that is definitely her nature and I am proud and happy for her that she is like that, but this would be a particularly tough blow because after being rejected…basically four times now, I don’t know. That’s just very Life: School of Hard Knocks. Should I write her a recommendation letter?
