Class of 2013: What's your dream school and why?

Sorry if there have already been a ton of threads on this topic, but I just wanna hear what everyone's first choice is. Maybe like a super-reach first choice and a more realistic option? For me, I would love to go to Oberlin because of the music scene, the academics and size (2800, large for a liberal arts college), the liberal politics, and just the general atmosphere/vibes I got when I visited. My first-choice reach would be Carleton, I think. How about y'all?

So many views, yet no replies? Come on, guys.

Mine is Columbia University, it’s in the city and still has a campus. But I know that I’m not competitive for Columbia, so I’m hoping for Fordham. But it’s expensive :(

Yeah, being in NYC would be pretty awesome… But I feel like I shouldn’t apply to a college just because I like the location, especially if it’s a reach.

Michigan because of its school spirit, football team, and top-notch business school. And, it doesn’t hurt to be in the best college town!

Stanford I love the location and vibe but I have no chance so realistically Reed or Lewis and Clark

My dream school is Yale; I am completely in love with the school. It would be such a dream to go there. My more realistic first choice (still in love) is Georgetown.

My dream school is Yale, which I’m applying SCEA to!

I grew up hearing my parents talk about the school (they both worked there when I was little). I love how Yale is a major research university but still has a tight-knit science community (relative to other schools of its calibre). I love how there are so many research opportunities available to undergrads. Most importantly though, the student quality of life (residential college system, master’s tea, study abroad, student love for the school, to name a few) is top notch.

Stanford ----> Startups.

Stanford SCEA :)

Wow, a lot of Stanford and Yale… I’m terrified of setting my hopes too high (as many of my classmates are).

University of Southern California

Yale for University, Hamilton for LAC
