Class of 2013

Woot! Hey everybody! I just thought there should be a post for the class of 2013!

So where's everyone coming from? What are you majoring in?

What’s up LSU class of 2013!!!

I’m Zach from Orlando and will major in Poly Sci/Pre-Law!

I’m Christian from Virginia. And I’m majoring in Political Science/Pre-Law too! Got into honors college :-D

Maybe we will be in some of the same classes Christianh~!

Go Poly Sci!!!

I think once we all get to LSU in the fall all of us CC people should get together!

Hahaha, that would be sweet!!!

So when are you guys heading out for orientation?

Woohoo! Post 100!

In April. I’m actually from LA, so I don’t have as far to travel.

I’m planning on majoring in Eng and History. Then from there I might either go to Law school or obtain an MLS degree. My future is still kind of hazy.

Tiger, any advice for us out of staters when flying into Baton Rouge?

what kind of advice? directions to lsu or something related to lsu?

What airport is the best? Should we stay on campus?

Thanks

defintly fly into the metro baton rouge airport if you can. that’s the closest to lsu. all you would have to do is just cross town takes about 20 minutes. if you fly in anywhere else, you’d have to drive an extra hour-four hours depending on what city you land in. however, the n.o. airport is nice, but again it’s about a 2 hr. drive.

you should try to stay on campus especially if you’ve never been to la or br before. if you stay in a hotel; you’d have to fight morning traffic (which is a pain!). in plus, you’ll get more acquainted with the campus if you stay at lsu!

Great! I’m booking my flight tomorrow!!!

I just checked my housing status, it looks like I’m in Acadian Hall…it looks nice

Are you in Acadian Hall for orientation or for next fall? Acadian is pretty nice, however, it is kind of small.

I think both. I can’t live off campus since I’ll still be 17. How small?

I’m in New Orleans. It takes a little over an hour for us to get to BR from NO, never more than an hour and a half. I wouldn’t want to drive that long after a flight, though. My housing is still pending. You already have a housing assignment for fall 09? I put Acadian as one of my choices.

If we register for orientation, is that only if you are going to put a deposit and enroll in classes? I have put off signing up for orientation because I didn’t know if I would be doing those things and paying the enrollment deposit on the spot. Anyone know if it is like enrollment orientation or getting to know the college better?

zman- It’s 15’7 by 12’7. It has enough room to fit two beds, two desk, two closest, and i believe a sink. However, you can always add more room by bunking the beds together.

nola- I’m not sure about putting a deposit down for college. I haven’t paid for my deposit yet, but I went ahead and signed up for orientation. however, you can always e-mail the orientation director (or the office of registar) if you have any questions.

Orientation will be enrollment orientation. you’ll schedule your classes for next yr., test out of subjects (if you indicated it on your application), and also getting to know the campus better.

Hey guys, I’m a freshman at LSU now. So if you have any questions go ahead and ask.

Zach, for orientation, if you’re going with a parent try and get a room at the Cook Hotel. It’s right on campus and it’s a nice place.

Most people fly into the New Orleans airport, but I recommend Baton Rouge if possible. It’s so small that everything goes by so quickly and it’s about a 20 minute/20-25 dollar cab ride away from the campus.

think im not gunna be there too. poli sci ftw

I live in LA already…so its only a 2 hour commute.
As for my major, I’m majoring in Nutritional Sciences

btw…does anyone know that Blake Hall is good? or is Evangeline better?
