Class of 2013

^
I do have to admit that it was really annoying when the HSL people kept telling me to go away as a freshman. Welcome to HSL.

they need to get over themselves and deflate their heads.

Sigh, it’s not immature to tell people to go away when they’re too young, as most people on here believe. The fact that you keep telling others to shut up and use an incredibly obstinate tone does support that conclusion.

And as you said yourself, you’re not in High School, you’re going to be in High School (as are millions of toddlers). Til then…

fine. i’ll come back in three months.

HIGH SCHOOL life. I am going to be in HIGH SCHOOL, so shut up. the fact that you are four years older than me does not mean you’re better than me. stop being immature. [/quote[
LOL.

funny how you’re calling me immature, yet it’s obvious who the 8th grader is in this thread.

I take back what I said about being mature. And 844 posts? That’s worse than early_college.

Izzy Busy Bee = early_college on steroids

hah, i too remember getting told as an 8th grader to “play outside” (as you can see from my shockingly early join date when i first lurked). I was like, NO WAY! My future is already in peril!!..calm down. Relax. The only things I would use CC for as a frosh/soph are here, sat/act boards (for sat subject tests and ap tests), possibly college search to narrow visits…the chances threads are disastrous—don’t let them scare you/don’t go to them

I’m entering high school next year :)

I’m glad they are on here.

I did poorly freshman year of high school. I could have done great, but I was unmotivated.

People should start as soon as possible. I mean people shouldn’t stress over anything though.

849 posts in about 4 months? Jesus, get off the computer.

Really, who cares?? She’s here for the Prep School Admissions (so am I) and decided to try HS Life. Leave her alone.

^Nice job getting into Exeter.

Yeah, congrats :)

Although I’m not going to tell you to get off this site, I hope you guys don’t burn out freshmen year, good luck!

And getting into Exeter or any other prep school is no big accomplishment…

Excuse me? Getting into any prep school, especially into Exeter or any competative prep school, is an accomplishment. What do you mean “no big accomplishment”?

Congrats on getting into Exeter.

what’s wrong with you high school ppl? there’s no reason to put down these kids for wanting a higher education in order to succeed in life. Who are you to judge them? You guys think caring about school means you have no life? You really need to quit being so narrow-minded.

Is it really that hard to get into prep schools? The people I know at Hotchkiss and Phillips Academy have the same or worse stats than mine. I mean, you’re usually going into them from 8th grade, maybe a bit later. It’s not very hard to have high A’s in middle school and scores that are “impressive” for an 8th grader.
Or maybe I’m just jeal that my mother wouldn’t let me go. Except not.

maybe you are. and stats don’t guarantee your acceptance. in that case, everyone who applied with straight A’s and “impressive scores” would get in, but that’s not the case.

Honestly not. I love, love, love my school and in my own way (b/c I generally dislike pride) I’m really proud that I go to a public school. I mean, who was the Teen Jeopardy Champ last year? That’s right, a girl from my not-so-great public school district and very great public school. And there’s something I like about proving people’s expectations wrong. Their expectations for some URM girl at some Midwestern public school. I don’t think I’d like the fact that the racial breakdowns are quite like what you see at colleges and the economic breakdowns are even worse. But that’s why I don’t want to go to most private schools, even the ones here like the Country Day schools. Maybe I’m jealous of people who go to boarding schools in MD though, because when I’m in Maryland I’m constantly happy. Unless I’m there for funerals. I’m jealous of almost everyone who lives in MD.
