Found out today I've been accepted :) Received an email saying I was accepted and they've already evaluated my transfer PSEO credits. Institute of Technology- BME

Really? Sweet, I was wondering when acceptances would start rolling out, you’re the first one I’ve heard of. I know that they said to look in early December, but I figured some might come earlier. If you don’t mind me asking, for my own sake, when did you submit your documents/what are your stats?

congrats matok!

congrats, surpised to see a acceptance.

Really? Freshman or transfer? Your status changed?

Freshman. The status on the application checker didn’t change, which is what is so interesting. However, the email stated:

"Dear _____,

Congratulations on being admitted to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. We have evaluated your transfer work to determine which courses transfer and how they fulfill the University of Minnesota’s Liberal Education requirements. You may view our evaluation at the One Stop Web site, http://onestop.umn.edu, by following the directions below."

I think all of my stuff was in mid-September.

ACT: 34 composite
GPA: 3.9ish UW, 4.2 W, 1st in class of 139
National Merit Commended

Dude thats awesome! I’m so jealous.

When did you apply?

^^
Yeah great news, but your stats are outstanding so I would have expected you to likely get accepted.

I just checked the application tracker for my son and the status has changed to “November 20, 2009: Your application is being very carefully considered.” It previously showed that everything was submitted and they would begin making admission decisions as early as December.

Congrats, matok!

Received the packet/letter in the mail today! The status checker still says November 20, 2009: Your application is being very carefully considered. So everyone else who has that status, be ready!

Any scholarship info in the packet?

Ugh, I got an email from Minnesota just a minute ago and got so excited…but all it was was this:

Thank you for applying to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. I am writing with a quick update regarding our review of fall 2010 freshman applications.

Your application is important to us and we sincerely appreciate your interest in the University of Minnesota. We know that you are eager to receive an admission decision and we are working hard to complete a very careful, individual review of each application.

The University’s comprehensive and individualized review process ensures that each application is given a thorough, fair, and consistent review. Because we are committed to ensuring that each application receives very careful consideration, our review does take some time to complete. We have provided information about how applications are reviewed, including answers to frequently asked questions, on our Web site at [U of M - Office of Admissions - Admission Application Review Message](http://admissions.tc.umn.edu/apply/message.html).

Although some decisions will be sent beginning in late November, most decisions will be mailed to students by the end of February after all applications submitted by the December 15 priority deadline have been reviewed. You can be assured that your application will receive very careful consideration.

Thank you for your interest in the University of Minnesota.

Sincerely,

Dr. Wayne Sigler
Director of Admissions

Ugh…so basically they’re saying you either get in in November or you have to wait until February? I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting in, but I’m guessing it won’t be until February.

No scholarship info was with my letter; I doubt I’ll be getting any, because Minnesota does not care about in-state students money :)

Tmac18
I also received same email as yours.
Still need to wait! :)

Yep- I got that same email today too!

Not necessarily. It might mean (based on matok’s example), that they decide clear cases who applied EARLY by now, and then let other results trickle out in the order of application, saving the last few cases that are hardest to decide until near the mid-February date. I’ve heard of students admitted at lots of different times of year.

Yeah I also got the same email.

Accepted!

ACT: 30
GPA: 4.02W
IB: Math HL, Bio HL, English HL, Euro HL, Physics SL - 4, French SL - 4
AP: US History - 5, Human Geography - 5

I got the same email as Matok did yesterday and the Acceptance Letter in the mail today. Some of my friends also received the email yesterday and/or acceptance packet today.
