I got the “your application is complete” email November 11th…32 ACT, 3.8 GPA. I’m thinking I’m going to get accepted, but I just want to know soon…when did all of you already accepted people get the email saying your application was complete?

D is in! to the College of Biological Sciences!
Not a big fan of posting stats online, let’s just say ACT above 30 but below 34, weighted rank top 5%, unweighted top 10%.
Looking forward to the letter to see if any scholarship information is included.

Nothing so far, the waiting period is killing me :)

Before mid-October, as I recall.

Speculation mode on:

I wonder if the out-of-state applicants are getting the news a little sooner, or if so far the notifications are being sent out by order of when application files are complete.

Speculation mode off.

Accepted today.
Thick envelope in the mailbox with Congratulation! written on the side.
No e-mail and my online status still says the “being carefully considered” thing.
Envelope had admission letter and a glossy folder. Glossy folder scholarship section said that merit scholarship decisions would be made by March.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.
No post office tomorrow so nothing to do except eat until it hurts :)

Congrats to those accepted, nice to know they are releasing decisions.

Online status just changed BUT- nothing about Honors.

It’s always something-
Nice, affordable school for OOS students but no honors.
Obscenely expensive school (cough-U Mich- cough)- sure, welcome to honors.

No matter- I do have a lot to be thankful for.

Mollymauk – you crack me up.

Wanted to mention that the housing application is up for 2010-2011. It will cost you a nonrefundable $25 to apply, but I have heard that it is well worth it to get it in early.

Congratulations to those who were already admitted and good luck to those who are still waiting.

My son was just admitted today (according to the app tracker status) and we have not received the mail yet. Does anyone know when the merit scholarship decisions are to be made and if there are any additional applications (essays and/or interview) for the merit scholarship?

My son was admitted to Carlson School of Business. He plans to be majoring in Accounting with minor in Finance. He has competitive SAT (CR: 740; M: 800 and W: 800) and ACT (35) scores, NMSF, AP scholar with distinction, above average ECs and bunch of other honors etc.

Thanks!

^
ouch - that 740 CR is going to hurt

Hah! now I know what it feels like to be one of those “chance me to Stanford” people.

Seriously MWD2, I am in awe of your son’s accomplishments. Did he get a notification about honors? I’m hoping for one of those oos tuition waver awards. I think those are automatic considerations with the admission application. My neighbor received one last year around Easter.

Yep, we are also hoping for OOS tuition waiver. It does seem like we don’t hear until March.

MidwestDad –
Here’s a link about scholarships. It doesn’t look like any extra applications are required.

[University-Wide Scholarships](University-Wide Academic Scholarships | Office of Admissions)

Accepted today via application tracker!!!
ACT: 33
UW GPA: 3.3
W GPA: 3.8
Class Rank: Top 20%
Kind of surprised to hear so early since my GPA is low.

MidwestDad - your son likely will at a minimum receive a $7500 scholarship (Gold Scholar) that U of M offers to NMF. We had a call from the admissions office making sure we knew about the scholarship about a month ago.
