You can set up your official Brown email account by following the instructions here.

[myAccount :: Account Activation](http://www.brown.edu/cis/activate/)

I can’t wait to put my new email into use!

I tried doing that, and it set up my account and everything, but they haven’t given me an e-mail yet! I don’t think they actually put us in the system until we are enrolled. I tried going onto an area of the Brown site that required a username and password and this is what I got:

“You don’t belong to the Brown community. Access is denied.”

Buurrrn.

It takes a little while, but you should have access to everything that requires a username and password sometimes during the early-mid summer months!

That’s weird it worked for me right away. Did you go to gmail.brown.edu and use the random letter/number combo that they gave during activation? You could always call them tomorrow and they’ll probably help you out because I’m pretty sure we should all be able to make accounts by now, unless I just got lucky :)

i somehow missed the temp password, so i guess i have to wait or call them…

Are you sure the site is gmail.brown.edu? I typed that in and it says that the site doesn’t even exist…technology hates me

That’s the website for Brown undergraduate e-mail. I’m on it now, so it does exist.

Nvm, definitely just figured out how to activate it. I didn’t know you had to activate your account and your e-mail separately.

But Safari is still trying to tell me that gmail.brown.edu doesn’t exist…w.t.f.

Thank you very much, I got my account up and running.

i just got mine up and running but i cant get it to work on my blackberry…? anyone else have this problem

^ava1992, how do you activate your email separately?

When you are on your account’s main page, you have to click on the link under “E-mail Settings” on the left-hand side, then it should take you to the page where you can set it up.
