Does anybody has any idea abt how much bank balance do international students have to show to get a free-ride or at least some very generous aid?

@ stag

Which school are u from?

@ everybody

Please tell me whether a student’s chances of getting admitted to a good college or university depends upon the rigor of his curriculum…i mean does an A-level graduate in science have higher chances to be enrolled in a good college than an A-level non-science graduate… who’s got better chances if both of them apply to a same college?

Talking about Middlebury, it was need-blind for international students up until last year.
And yeah the rigor of courses taken by a student does matter when applying. As for how much, well it varies from place to place.

hey you guys… new CC’er in the house…just dropped in to say hello…

“it was need-blind for international students up until last year”
Is that dropped out now cc?

And about aid. If any one of you know abt the top colleges that do not give significant aid to internationals (specifically Nepalese) , please write their names. You could be of great help for everyone. I learnt that Pomona is not a good place to apply considering that…is that true?

now everybody’s in the “app process mud”

gurung know abt pomona i think/,…where’s gurung nowadays.??

carnegie mellon
i think doesn’t give aid

Yeah, Pomona is quite stingy when it comes to international aid.
@stag: Yeah, that policy has been dropped.

Well can i please get some information about financial aid and other related stuffs?

hey guyz, recently one of my fren said that like for any eng. course that most imp. exam dat matters is SAT II coz… SAT I is all abt testing our english… so, he’s deciding to give his SAT II at oct/nov then give his SAT I and finally TOEFL. is it correct.??? The another reason he says to give SAT II first is becoz our A level at all don’t match even 95% of SAT II [phy,chem,math] syllabi… plz help me onl this…>>

Taking the SAT II some time during the the middle of grade 12 is probably the best. However, I’d say that if you’re intent on taking the TOEFL then try taking it between June and Early September. Just my $0.02.

@cc
i like the way you said “two cents”

@jhyaple.
I’ll probably be RDying in Duke.

the info will be really appreciated

^Agreed. and I’ll not be applying ED to Amherst.

but then you didn’t answer my question whether SAT II is more imp than SAT I?

I think my request went unheard… can somebody please help me with financial aid and related stuffs.
