Class of 2014 From Nepal

I’m doing great with the slow part but the problem arises with the steady portion. :frowning:
Anyways, @lluvia:con:fuego-Are you from a +2 yourself?

^Nope
10 chars

^ Okay was just checking.

how much it matters the brand or name of the high school we study? If i apply for the August 2010, i will lose 2 years… as i completed my high school in 2008… i have taken SAT I… composite…1350… i will take again this september… how can i compensate for those two years?

Re. the resume issue, just wanted to shout out that one page is the length my seniors told me to stick to as well :)

@cezangel, i don’t think brand will matter. try and look for the possibility of AP tests. dates, location and stuff. if possible take it. one of my seniors had done that. he was one semester ahead.

If he/she is applying for fall 2010 semester then I don’t think he will be able to take the AP tests on time. It takes place only once a year and the date for this year has already passed. So, if he/she decides to take the AP test next year then that should only help him/her transfer credits.

@cezangel: Do you mean the october date? And best of luck for that. And if you can show some reasons of why you had to take a twoo-year gap and also demonstrate that you did something productive then you should be fine.

@cezangel: the high school you studied in doesn’t matter at all. nothing, nada, zero.
you should’ve compensated for those two years lost by actually doing something productive in those two years. if you didn’t do anything and still lost two years, then you’re f ucked.

@cezangel If i apply for August 2010, i will lose 2 years… as i completed my high school in 2008.
same here, what did you do to kill time?

i too gave my SATs in May but not satisfied yet… 2170. I really think i could improve my writing. and my CR scores are nowhere near those of the people in CC. So should i give the SAT again in November? i have my Subject tests in october and toefl in July.

how is AP given, guys? i mean how do we register, where? and what do we read. of course, this year’s date has passed. just want to know.

why were you all wasting time? read my post which is on page 11. and do look for safeties as well.

@stag:The collegeboard website syas to contact the local test centres for more information on AP and I believe that’s Lincoln School in our case. That’s where you register and take the test.

You guys are too late to take the AP tests for admission process but later if you get admitted and your college grants placement according to AP test scores you can take it on next may i.e. May 2010.
You can buy AP preparation books at Bhrikuti Pustak Pasal, Bhrikutimandap…OR…You can also find those books at USEF but you need a national ID to use them.( you can ask the guys at the desk for AP books)

Best of luck!

And also you might have to express your interest to take the test quite early

@stag i am working in Bir Hospital as a volunteer… since i want to take chemistry as my major, i tried for a chemical industry… but they are really far from my home town… it will consume a lot of time… i am trying to get a replacement in Bir hospital in a lab… well i will take my SAT soon… Hard luck in SAT… this year need to get in a college…

great work cezangel. i am teaching science and maths to grade 8 and 9 students in a good school. hope the adcoms give me an edge for it.

and does anyone know what Spiny Babbler does? do we get to volunteer easily? and what really do the volunteers do? i’m anticipating a quick response

Anyone here taking the 21st June Toefl?

i’m taking the one in 25th July.

ADSL murdababad, lal salaam comrades! feels good to be back. finally we have an active thread. I guess I only missed two pages.

@ cez angel, I too am looking for a career in chemistry. do they allow guyz with +2 into such jobs at Bir Hospital and chemical industry?

@stag spiny babbler sucks, unless you are an artist. you need to volunteer entire days for a month and all you do is motivate kids to draw during their camps. but if you are an artist then it has a lot more to offer.

I guess, everyone here is from +2?
