I know this isn’t the thread for NA. However, I do see that the chart you guys have is also mentioning cutoff scores for NA. Were letters for NASF also mailed out in conjunction with the NMSF letters or does the NA corporation mail theirs separately? Any suggestions for the cutoff for the third region with MS in it? I made 190 on PSAT but couldn’t use those scores because of irregularities. I had to take the SAT instead and I ended up going down to 1860 (PSAT-186 I believe). Friend of mine is NAF with same score last year. Hopefully I make the cut this year.

LDGQQQ, is that SAT score with essay? Because you can remove the essay contribution, just use the MC subscore of the writing section. That usually increases one’s score.

I believe that would only increase my score to a 1870.

221 in PA made it per principal no cut off info

My daughter was formally notified today by the high school guidance counselor that she is a NMSF in KY; she scored a 221 on the PSAT.

After the press-release date in mid-September, qualifying scores will be available by phone from the NMSC. Here is the number to call–the receptionist will give you one “qualifying score” when asked.

If you have been notified that you are NMSF, post your score (and your state) if it is lower than the score already posted for your state. It will then become the lowest known qualifying score and be indicated as “<=”.

If you have reliable knowledge of what the qualifying score for your state is (try asking whoever notifies you!), post it here, too. It will become the definitive cut-off score for your state indicated by “=”.

Finally, if you know that you did not qualify and had a reasonably high score, it can also be useful to post your score as an example of the highest non-qualifying score. This can be indicated by “>=”

Please note: Be conscientious as you post scores on this thread–it would be crushing to be led to believe you have made the cutoff by a post but actually haven’t.
LDGQQQ, here is a thread from last year where people posted scores that made NAS in early September, so must be the letter goes out about the same time as for NMSF. But the NMSC official announcement date is later for NAS as I recall, almost end of September,

Thanks @celesteroberts

We were able to identify the Oklahoma cutoff because we had 10 students at our school who scored above 203 – one who scored 209 didn’t make it, but the one who scored 210 did.

I believe that the NA letters go out at the same time, I’ll see in the next couple of days in region 4. Actually I’ll call tommorow and ask.

@NormanOKMom Thanks for the help, we appreciate it!

Any Connecticutions out there? Hoping for the best with a 223…

My daughter has a 216 in Ohio but her school has heard nothing… What gives?

@Jazzed, Connecticution with a 220, I’m almost definitely out. I doubt it would go higher than 222 though, I would be really shocked if it passed 223. You’re probably safe.

@Jazzed ^ I’m from Connecticut with a 219… with a 223 you’re pretty much guaranteed, it’s been around 219 the past few years, I believe. I’m the one who should be worried! (Which I am). I probably have like a 10% chance of making it, you’re golden. I have the creeping notion that CT’s cutoff will be exactly 220.

I’m new to this…and in Maryland…when can we expect to see a letter? Do all states get it in the same week, within a few days, or could it be next week?

univbound, letters were mailed to high schools for the kids who made NMSF on Tues, August 27th. as you can see, there are still unknown scores in a bunch of other states. Check this thread regularly tomorrow as more people are being notified daily. please also feel free to join the unofficial discussion too(link below) while u wait.
