Class of 2014!

Oh sorry, I didn’t notice your reply yet! California! Nice!
I’m more of a east-coast fan (and Chicago).

I’m already studying for the TOEFL. SATs are up after that. This summer is gonna be a test-taking summer. Where do you guys look for scholarships? I’ve seen fastweb but nothing there that fits for me yet.

Chicago huh? Northwestern University maybe?

University of Chicago!

Mmm, I’m an East Coast LAC/small university fan :).

I’m a LAC fan/small university fan too :)

@python (if you’re still here): Not sure if I’m the same dude, I got into Carnegie Mellon Qatar Campus, not Pittsburgh, and yes, no aid for internationals, only at the Qatar campus :)

^Darn. Thanks for reminding me - I had to check up on which colleges on my list offer FA to internationals. Carnegie Mellon and New York are now off my list, unless I win the Lottery or something. :P

@Flibb: What are you studying? You should go for Computer Science… it’s meant to be really good at Carnegie Mellon.

@Python: Yeah, I got admitted to Tepper Business and Computer Science, and going for CS, cuz I love it! The Qatar campus is offering the same degree, and I may even spend a year at the Pittsburgh campus, so good enough for me!

Good luck :)! Which area of CS are you considering working in? I’m personally interested in AI at the moment - I also program in Python.

Where can I find a list of colleges which provide FA?You may tell me some on here if you know.

@smartchap: tell us what sort of colleges you want, how much aid you want and how selective colleges you want, and I guess we can help you. Another option: College Matchmaker from Collegeboard, though I wouldn’t say its the most helpful.

@python: coincidentally, I also started Python, and its the most interesting, as its damn simple and straightforward! I’m really into Networking, AI, and robotics…part of the reason I love the CMU CS program.

Ok…
so,I want to do an Engineering program,at least 40% aid and should be in the top 30 engineering schools in USA.

I tried College Matchmaker,wasn’t too helpful.Whatever I tried,I got a list of awful awful colleges I wouldn’t even dream of going to:p

one crucial piece of information you need to consider…looking at LACs too?

No…definitely no LACs for me

Why no LACs?

I want to go to the West Coast (coughbecauseihavenoeastcoastclothescough) but so few places offer FA that I’m screwed.

hey. I felt like joining this thread too, since I’m applying to US colleges this autumn/fall and doing my SAT1 in June. I’m also from England, and a girl. good luck everyone.

A girl? The there will be lesser competition for you, and applying from England will serve you well too (not an over-represented country like say India and China). Best of luck!

The competition at Yale is stiffer for girls though!

I always wonder, will it help coming from the Netherlands? Is it an UR…C? (underrepresented country)?

DEFINITELY stiffer competition for girls.

And aww, why no LAC love?
