Georgetown and UChi are definitely extremely competetive colleges, if by competetive you mean top-ranked. It’s harder to get full rides there than it is at, say, Yale, but it’s certainly possible. UCB most definitely would NEVER be a safety, particularly if you’re out-of-state. Do you need aid? Because it offers zero aid to internationals.

I wish I could speak a foreign language! I’m trying to self-study Chinese, but the tones are hard to pick up and it’s immensely frustrating. Maybe I should just wait till I can attend a class.

P.S. Hi there to everyone new on the board ^^.

Gee, thanks :*. I might just wait till I can take a class, though - I’ll be moving overseas soon, so I’ll be more likely to find a teacher there.

@Elou24: I’m homeschooled, and my mum can’t drive. Finding a Chinese class within walking distance of where I live is like finding a Harvard acceptance letter in your neighbour’s garbage; great if it actually happens, but rather unlikely :D.

oh my what are those languages that you’re talking about? how come i’ve never heard of them… :S? let me guess, are there many of you Indians? and python you’re learning Chinese? wow then i can offer some help if you ever need. i’m from Taiwan by the way, but the only difference is the accent, so yea.

Ooh, I’ve been to Taiwan, I want to live there! I’m learning German this summer vacation. A few years ago my friends and I would walk around the street snarling at each other pretending that we were speaking in German, so I guess I’ve wanted to since then :D

whoow! I have 6 languages in school, haha… English, Dutch, French, German, Latin and Ancient Greek! And this summer I’ll try to learn either Arabic or Russian or maybe brush up my french a little.
