Class of 2014!

Yep, unless my visit to Brown puts me off horribly I will be applying ED there.

@Quasiprofound
rollins RD is good... lemme know if i can be of any help... b sure to send in yr apps early

You will have to come back and tell us all about it! I love Brown as well. Wouldn't it be cool if some of us end up at the same schools :D

I can't believe you get to visit Brown. I love Brown. I've BEEN to Harvard, but I was five so it doesn't count. Like, at all. I've always spent months at Syracuse University, but again, I was like seven.

dallo: How early? Thanks for responding!

Of course I will tell you guys all about it, the day I visit itself!

@quasiprofound
yr app should reach the admissions well before the first week of Jan... even though rollins' site mentions feb 15.. the deadline for cornell scholarship is jan 15.. and most ppl dont know tht...
the sooner the better!!

Basically - let Rollins be the first app you send in :)

Wow... reading the Harvard decisions this year, it's really hard to discern what they're looking for. -_-

I'm not even venturing to those threads. At least not now. They'll probably depress me way too much.

I know. I'm terrified.

Check out the Brown thread (actually, don't.) More people with 650s in SAT sections are getting in than people with 750+.

I'm not even sure whether I'm applying to Brown or not :)

NOOOOOOOOOO I am doomed! :(

^Presuming that you're referring to the Brown thread, don't give up hope, lol. Why do you like Brown so much, anyway? -curious- I don't really know that much about it. Still going to apply this autumn, though... probably...

quasiprofound,why is that?Have nay idea why thats happening?

Why do I like Brown? Here goes :).

The Open Curriculum is mind-blowing. It's the TOTAL opposite of how things are here in India. 'Nuff said ;).
The location is perfect...an hour away from Boston (Boston = relatives + fun fun fun!), about 4 hours away from NYC...and Providence is supposed to be a pretty cool little city in its own right.
It's amazing in practically all fields of study, which is perfect for someone like me who can drastically change course.
The people. They are amazing, period. Just go to the Brown forum...talk to some people, browse through the threads. Incredibly smart, but even more down-to-earth. Basically, the type of people you'd love to hang around with all the time.

But you know the best thing?

The university sits atop its own hill. Now how can you expect me to NOT like a university that has it's own hill?!
:p

Aren't the students at Brown rather over-involved in political things, though? At least, that's what I read on a university-discussion site.

I'm tempted to apply regardless, I admit... just for the heck of applying to all the Ivies.

No, not over-involved. I mean, you'll find people at either end of the spectrum, definitely. Diversity in all forms is huge out there. Besides, I'm a MUN girl, I like to discuss my world affairs :).

^How much did you get on the SATs?:)

Lol, you have just nearly convinced me to apply, thereby lowering your chances.

You should be saying that it's awful, that the food sucks, yada yada yada... :D
