at last,… a single digit number

notification is by email at 5 pm ET. On March 31st. Yale is the same.

Or you get it by mail from April 1st onwards.

i was completely nervous when i first applied…now, i’m just going to leave it with God. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Totally agree with all international students dreaming to attend Ivy League institutions. I’m a first gen. college applicant, immigrant to the US just four years ago (so I’m still kinda divided between my homeland and my new land), with no great English ability whatsoever (or at least in my first few years) and in full need of financial aid. But I kinda didn’t mind the sons of doctors laughing at me when I told them I applied to “freaken Harvard”. And I just got a likely letter (not yet acceptance though) from “freaken Harvard”. Thank you mommy for teaching me self-confidence.

koolstuff THAT IS FANTASTIC!!! I’m so happy for you!

Koolstuff, that is pretty awesome. (HOPE YOU GET IN!) I haven’t gotten a likely letter from Harvard, but I am an African American first generation college student. I have already gotten into UChicago, but it would be amazing if I got Harvard too!

Angeladiva

I am also a African American first generation college. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully April 1st will be a great day. :)

@ Koolstuff!! that´s great congratulations!! hopefully we´ll see each other next year at Freaken Harvard.

I got in Haravrd. I received a likely letter about a week ago. I hope I meet you guys there. But that is not for sure, MIT is more appealing to me and I got in.

You have only two subject tests, a 1850 on the SAT and you got a likely from ‘Haravrd’?

That’s pretty much phenomenal.

That just shows that grades don’t matter anymore these days. I mean it’s important, but its not as strong as before. They need a well rounded candidate who will make an impact in this world, not a straight A student that doesn’t know how to network in our world today.

^
there is a strong link between SAT scores and socioeconomic status… and all of us arent that fortunate in life. and i believe most schools do realize that…

a close friend of mine… he got accepted at MIT last year… he doesnt have the highest SAT scores however he has a great life story and experience… tears

^^
Everyone is aware of that less emphasis is being put on test scores, but being short of the school’s requirements and having a score in the 1800’s is a bit extreme.

Haven’t posted in a long time but I’m glad to inform you guys that I got a likely from Harvard on March 3. I’m an international student, making it even harder to believe that I got in! I am 99% sure that I will attend Harvard this fall and I’m looking forward to getting the official letter on April 1st and attending the Pre-frosh program on April 24-26 :D. If any of you guys received a likely letter and are planning on attending, PM me! I want to start meeting fellow Crimson folk.

^ totally jealous about the likely letter

Hey guys. Freaking out abt the decisions, though I am almost sure I’ll be rejected (already got denials from MIT and Stanford). Well, we’ll see.

Don’t give up KZGirl92. I also got rejected from MIT but things went well after that. I got a likely from columbia and I got accepted at Amherst…BUT I STILL WANT HARVARD! Anyway good luck!

chill out guys… admissions to an ivy league is a gamble. so there is always a chance :D

aaaah only 5 days now!!!

awww, i’m so excited.
