Class of 2014

Good luck prospective 14s! If you have any questions, feel free to pm me.

I second Andromeda! I got a likely letter and am about 70% sure I’ll be attending because I got into some other good places too. But I’m not cool enough to be an international student… I’m from an obscure town in Indiana…

OMG GOOD LUCK GUYS!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD!!! It has been nice to meet you virtually hahahahahhaha

ive been with y’all through this journey tears

I really did get in! I know it was early, but the letter says “we are pleased to invite you to Harvard University’s Class of 2014, and the Board of Admission will send you an official letter and package on April 1st.” So weird!! I had no idea it worked like that.
I’m crossing my fingers for everyone else! Good lucks guys- only four more days!! :)

rhj913:

congrats to the likely letter

rhj913, the letter says “I am delighted to report that the Admissions Committee has asked me to inform you that we will offer you a formal letter of admission to the Class of 2014 on April 1.”

2 more days and so :D

lalalalalalala

Good luck to everyone!!

I wish you the best!!:)

neonseri, I am almost 100 % sure you’re a black/latino. I am just browsing this thread for fun(I have no intention going into Harvard) but a score of 1850 on SAT and getting into Harvard can only be explained by Affirmative Action. I am, on the one had, happy for you. But on the other, it’s quite clear that you’ll be in the 10th percentile. And you’ll struggle. But I hope you push it through. Just work really hard. Really, really hard.

^

wow… well you are totally wrong…

(where is the ■■■■■ patrol when you need them the most)

first of all, im asian. not black or latino…

i have 2400 in SAT 1. i have about 2200 collectively in 3 SAT subject test. (MATH 2: 800,
US HISTORY: 790, BIO: 610)

and lastly, i havent been admitted to harvard…

I’m a current Harvard freshman and if you have any questions or concerns whatsoever, PM me and I would gladly help you out! Love to hear from our incoming FRESHMEN (and WOMEN) :)

Good Luck 2014!!

^ thanks for the offer
every who gets accepted should definitely take advantage of your offer

My daughter is an incoming freshman. Any general advice about stuff to bring, or any general advice? Harvard Mom

^Congrats to your daughter, fauxmaven :)! I think you can find a lot of useful information here as well from other Harvard parents (though that thread has been kind of quiet lately, since it’s summer):

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/504059-harvard-parent-thread.html</a></p>

Other places where you can find information on this topic in general:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/53990-last-years-shopping-checklists-bedding-threads.html</a></p>

^^This is another thread I’ve been using to compile my shopping list:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/82285-z-what-bring-college.html</a></p>

Like the ones xrCalico23 posted, this thread is very quiet.

I just started to read the list of what to bring…is there anything NOT included? I guess I have an odd question ,as my last three college send-offs were boys.Is there a place in the freshman dorms at Harvard to dry hand washables ? I have a drying rack in my laundry room ,but is there a place for this ?I guess this is such a minor issue on the scale of college concerns, but I notice minor concerns on other threads ,so I’ll ask. Please don’t make fun of me.I promise my next question will be more typical. Thanks for any relevant information.

I deleted some things from the lists above to compile my own. You don’t have to bring everything on the list; it only provides suggestions for the things college freshmen might need.

When I visited the dorm rooms, I didn’t see any dedicated drying space; however, many of the freshmen did have small drying racks. There’s enough space in the common room (or dorm room, if it’s big enough) to put one.

This is a place to voice your concerns; do not hesitate to ask questions because of a fear of being mocked by some less-than-helpful individuals on this website.

Thank you for all responses.I am officially an empty nest mom today…My daughter,L.left to do volunteer work on a farm in Sweden for 7 WEEKS !! It is so quiet now …Lots of time for stuff like this forum.

^That’s unfortunate. :frowning: However, I’m sure you’ll be able to commiserate with many parents on the “Parents” forum. Feel free to ask more questions!

:)
