Class of 2014

My daughter just auditioned at Webster at the NYC unifieds. She really liked the program and, from what I can tell, it is excellent and a good school as well. Any information on when they might make a decision and how they will let her know? Nervous dad needs some help.

My daughter auditioned at the NYC unifieds 2 years ago and is now a sophomore at Webster. She loves the program! As for when you’ll hear, unless they’ve changed their policy, your daughter will receive her letter from the Conservatory on April 1. She will probably receive a general acceptance letter from the University before then, but the Conservatory waits until April 1 to send the program acceptance letters out. So, it’s a long time to wait, but at least you know you there’s nothing wrong when you don’t hear anything earlier! Hope it’s good news when it arrives!

Webster’s last audition is March 20th so they will not send out replies until after that. So 3ThreatMom is right, I think around April 1st.

Break a leg! It is a great program.
Marianne

DD auditioned for Webster yesterday at the LA Unifieds and was told that they had audition dates into March so not to expect anything until after all the auditions were completed.

DD really likes what she has learned about Webster and thought her audition went very well. The auditor spent some time talking to her afterwards and she got a good vibe about the program. Now it’s just a wainting game!

I remember we were in your position last year at this time. It’s going to seem like an eternity but hang in there!

only a few more days and we’ll know for sure! Best wishes to everyone! :-D

So far Webster had done everything by mail - so if they mail them April 1st or 2nd, give the letters at least three days to get to you.

So I shouldnt expect to hear ON April 1st?

My D actually heard ON April 1st, but that was probably coincidental. It came by US mail, so it stands to reason if you live near St. Louis you might hear something a day or two sooner than someone who lives farther away. We lived in NC at the time.

oh okay! I live in Ohio, sooo hopefully it won’t take be too much later

Last year my d received her acceptance packet on March 30th. Then a few students were called/ emailed a little before written notices went out. ( my d’s friend was 1 of those ) Every year there are those who receive multiple offers from places like Carnegie Mellon, CCM, Michigan etc… and I would assume that since Webster has no official waiting list that they contact these highly sought after folks personally. The reasoning is a guess on my part but it makes sense.

I know waiting is tough, especially as comes down to the wire. There’s no hard and fast set schedule because of all the variables including how good your local post office is. Remember the operative phrase is “around” April 1st". Hang in there all! Good luck!

ha ha  thank you so much!

get used to the waiting…once you in the business there is ALOT of it there as well.

^^^ain’t that the truth!!! :)

ha ha  oh I know, it’s just ironic that my top schools are the last ones I’ll hear from:-)

A friend of mine who’s an acting major at Webster told me they finalized the class last night and sent out letters today, so we should hear soon! crosses fingers

Thanks so much, Alexa!

rejected… but it’s okay  I’m loving the school I got accepted to

— I didn’t get it by mail, btw… they called me, cause I had a tour scheduled. The man in admissions told me that they just sent out letters today

:( Shorter’s lucky to have you!

Fingers crossed I at least KNOW something soon!
