Now I know no one has received a letter yet from Marquette (at least I haven't), but I thought I'd post a results board so that we can start to share the news once they start to arrive, probably by next week! :). When posting your decision, you should follow this format, just so that its easier for people to see and compare.

We don’t mail letters in any particular order. We had over 21,000 applications so you can image how long it will take to get all the letters out.

[ *] Anything else-Looking at the thread my GPA looks a little low, but every student coming out of my high school is given “Extremely Rigorous” as their strength of curriculum FWIW.

Both are excellent midwest Jesuit institutions. More similar than different. That said, MU has more of a national draw and is now considered a national rather than regional school. One gets a fine education at both.

And by the way, I’ve heard that this year’s envelope is blue/white. Last year was gold. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted.

Waitlisted.
I’m not sure what to do. The letter gave instructions on how to add myself to the waitlist. Should I?
Just to clarify, I don’t have to accept their offer of admission if I’m offered admission, right?

Go to the facebook page Marquette University Class of 2015: Real Students, Real Answers go to the discussion section and the wait listed topic. They will answer your questions. Hope this helps.

Message to IZZY4COLLEGE:

My opinion is that Marquette and SLU are wonderful universities. Rankings is just part of the picture. Both are in the top 100 (84 Marquette, 88 SLU) nationally ranked universities in the U.S. They are compared against IVY Leagues and huge State Colleges that get so much funding from the state for research, etc. and are ranked very high and are usually overcrowded.

In my case I was looking for a college that offers a 6-year DPT program. There are not that many in the nation. Then I wanted a nice campus in an urban environment. The Catholic/Jesuit component of these schools is a bonus. Both schools have a 95+% pass rate in first-time takers of the PT licensing exam and 100% in ultimate pass rate. That constitutes a great college for me.

I think you need to find the college that has the right environment and academic program that is a good fit for you. Rankings do not tell the how story. Every university has it’s strengths and weaknesses. Marquette and SLU are very strong in the major I have selected. In fact, Marquette is ranked 19th out of 160 PT schools. That’s excellent!!

Congrats to all who have been accepted!!
I have not made my decision yet, I have been accepted to SLU’s and Duquesne’s 6-year DPT, and I’m still waiting to hear from Boston University and Northeastern.

Did anyone else apply to the 6-year DPT program? Is anyone going to the February 5th test for Exercise Science? Is anyone in the 6-year program that can provide any information other than what I have read? Also, I’m thinking of applying to the Honors Program - waiting to after I see the school in two weeks. Any info on the Honors College?

I don’t put any stock in rankings, but to be accurate, Marquette was ranked 75th last year in the National Universities category.
Yes, it accepts more than half its applicants, but make no mistake – the kids there have to work for their grades.
