has anyone decided to attend ? the scholarship this year may affect my decision. anyone visited yet? curious to know what your impressions were.

I enjoyed my visit last spring. I got in too with a good scholarship, but I doubt I’ll go.

reason why? i’ve never visited

I feel like LSU doesn’t have enough prestige academically. Also I heard it very much just like an extension of high school for a lot of Louisianan’s.

Daughter accepted but no scholarship. I guess they are sticking very close to test scores as their decision maker for scholarships this year. Very high GPA and intense IB course load, appears to not have been a factor for a scholarship this year. We were told this school loved OOS with robust curriculum, high GPA, well rounded students (not just students with test scores) Too bad. This one is off the list.

I believe the scholarship offers don’t come with the initial acceptance letter. That’s the way it was in 2008.

And to NOLAhornets23, the academic prestige factor is hugely overrated. I don’t know what you plan on majoring in, etc. but for many areas there really is no incentive to go somewhere more “prestigious” than LSU. If you are going to pay for prestige, I don’t think Tulane is worth it. Just my opinion. For me, waiting until grad school to worry about prestige was the best move I made.
