Class of 2015 Architecture Acceptances

@marcuswill‌ why do they do this :frowning:

@thegrant no idea. its pretty shitty to keep us waiting on a no. just put us out of our misery already

Accepted - CU

Havent heard back - Pratt, CUHK, HKU, Deakin

@NAROKKII COOPER UNION

@thegrant heard from a friend that he was told they’re still deliberating and thats the reason the final decisions have not been sent out yet. i want to believe its true and that they wouldn’t be so cruel to lead people on or keep them waiting if there really was absolutely no chance left. doesn’t make much sense.

im also curious as to how much the financial issues Cooper is dealing with behind the scenes has played into the admissions process.

@marcuswill‌ haha imagine if the budget only lets them have one person make all the admissions decisons. And yeah! A friend told me they were still releasing up until tomorrow night

@thegrant haha not that but who knows if there looking at other aspects besides just the applications etc. such as who is actually able to pay the tuition and who would need financial aid. i know there supposedly need blind but who knows at this point. not sure if the fact that i didn’t hear of any decisions go out today should be more alarming or leave some hope?

im scared of a flood of rejections going out tomorrow afternoon for us to enjoy over the weekend. =(

@thegrant what’s your list so far and which one is your favourite?

@designdreamer ahhhhhh nice i wish i got into cornellll

Hey, it sounds like you all have really exciting choices. Nicely done!. Great place to be for architecture which is very selective. Congratulations and good luck y’all. .

My Daughter’s replies are all in and listed below. She has her heart set on U.T. Austin and the dual degree in Architecture and Architectural Engineering, also it’s in-state tuition for us - which makes things more manageable.

We were at a UT College/Architecture Department event last weekend and heard that the acceptance rate for Architecture is about 10%, class size for Architecture is 60-70, and only 10% make it through both degrees in the dual degree program, the other 90% choose one degree to graduate in. .

Accepted
U.T. Austin, Dual Degree BArch & BSE Architectural Engineering (In state tuition)
Cal Poly, BArch - with a dual degree BSE option (OOS, Small Scholarship)
U Cal Berkely, Engineering, with an Architecture option (OOS)
Iowa State BArch - with a dual degree BSE option (Scholarship - In state tuition)
University of Kansas MArch with a dual degree BSE option (Scholarship - In state tuition)
Texas A&M Engineering with an option to dual degree in Architecture later (In state tuition plus scholarship)

Rejected
Columbia Engineering

Some colleges that she would have been interested in like Pratt, Cooper, Cornell, Rice, wouldn’t allow a dual degree with the B Arch since they consider the B Arch already very intensive - they have a point!

.

@KCB1234‌ UT AUSTIN IS AWESOME (BUT BEREKELY OMG)

I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM COOPER UNION, SO REJECTED

Waitlisted by Syracuse

@mollii4‌ HOW DID U GET WAITLISTED BY SYRACUSE WHAT?!?! LMAO

@thegrant‌ hahah at first they said they were pleased to offer me a place. Then they said that’s why we waitlisted you haha
