Class of 2015 -- Bio Majors

For those of you who are already accepted to the Pre-Bio program at UCSB, I have one thing to say to you: CONGRATULATIONS :)
I, myself, am a Pre-Bio major and I plan on attending UCSB in the fall of this year. I mainly decided to create this thread in order to sort of get to know the fellow Bio majors a BIT more.
Feel free to share any questions/comments/thoughts/random stuff relating to the program or the campus itself!

I’m a Pre-Biopsych major… does that count? haha.

Hey Anberlin! I’m pre-bio next year (for biochemistry) too. I turned in my little registration thing so I’m all set to go for next year. I just visited UCSB this weekend and it is amazing. Everyone there was really nice and the vibe of the campus was just really chill and down to earth. What are you planning to do with your major?

Hi! I am also a pre-biology major and will be a freshman in the fall! I hope to branch off into aquatic sciences later  I visited the campus on Saturday and fell in love for the third time… So stoked for september!!

Hey guys I am also most likely attending ucsb as a bio major.

Do you guys have any idea what you want to get involved in outside of class?

Hello to all of you
I’m planning in going into the Bio field to prepare myself a bit for med school, but it isn’t really my main focus. I plan to grab a few minors along the way as well
I hope to see all of you at either the Summer program or at orientation :D

I got in too!
Not entirely sure if I’m accepting UCSB though…

Haha. Why is that Iamvanishing?

BUMP. Where are all these Bio majors at? I cannot be left alone in the dark.

I’m here Anberlin! Pre-bio for now. When’s your orientation?

Pre-bio here for Biochemistry

Anyone doing FSSP?

Hey confused. My orientation is this upcoming Monday
So excited!
How about yours?

Well, I’m just doing straight out Bio. I was planning on doing FSSP, but there was a lack of money.

what happens at orientation?

Anberlin- July 14-15! I’m nervous yet excited!!! You’ll have to let us know how it goes.

Jetson- [Program Overview for Freshman Students](http://www.sa.ucsb.edu/orientation/FreshmanOrientation/ProgramOverviewforFreshmanStudents.aspx) That’s all we know haha

Confused619 is right, haha.
And of course, I’ll let you know how it goes :stuck_out_tongue:
I’ve already gotten a few things that I should do to make my experience there better :)

yeah? like what?!?!?! hahaha

Ummm…one of the tips I received (from Hairy Lemon) was to bring my own wireless mouse, since track-pads are pretty much hell. It gives you a slight edge over the competition when it comes to limited space.

I also found this interesting quote while scouring the CC threads.

I’ll have to look into this a bit more.

By the way, here’s an interesting link with a few tips: [8 Things for Freshmen to Remember](http://www.physics.ucsb.edu/~airboy/freshmen.html)

hmm interesting. i’ll have to keep that in mind!!!

and you’ll have to let me know what they tell bio majors about classes. i heard it pretty limited!
