I’m not surprised that they have a record # of applicants. They break that record every year. When my daughter entered Centre there were 301 in her class. That was the largest class ever and that was 7 years ago–can’t imagine what the size of the freshman class is now. Great schools don’t stay a secret for long :)

Glad to see some more recent posts on this thread! DS and I are visiting next week and I’d love to hear from some current/recent students or parents of students about their opinions of/experiences at Centre.

She did, actually, have wonderful, life-changing experiences there and as far as successful, it’s hard when you graduate during the worst recession in more than 2 generations but she IS employed, pays her own way and doesn’t live at home…which, in book, is pretty darned successful :)

She was a member of Bonner (and also worked --through Americorp–for the college as the Bonner coordinator right after graduation for a year). THAT was a wonderful leadership organization. She was also a member of the choir and participated fully in activities. She was NOT in a sorority (I know that’s been a concern that greek life is the only life on campus–it’s not).
