[] Strengths:really good extra-curricular/essays, better than most id imagine
[li] Weaknesses: not great math grades- B+/A- plus im not in honors or a year ahead[/li][ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I had weak grades fresh/sophomore year, although they did improve. My math stuff probably wasn’t great and I applied to one of their hardest programs. I think I might still have a chance later if I keep up my straight As

Nah, the waitlist is what they go to in order to fill the Freshman class in April/May. Being deferred means your app will be reevaluated in the upcoming months and you will get a brand new decision at the end of March.

Your scores and such all seem great. Obviously don’t know about your essay, but you look like you have a VERY good shot at acceptance in March, especially if you keep straight A’s.

Again, I don’t know about your essay, but I’m a little surprised you didn’t get in early.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think most girls get in :)

George42, Keep working the GPA but be sure to apply elsewhere. Pretty much same GPA, SAT, and AP participation as you was deferred last year, then waitlisted. Did not accept the waitlist although it appeared that said student would have made it. It’s the GPA and said student had too many Bs Freshman and Sophomore years also. There is also some scuttlebutt about AP courses although some schools limit them. Good luck!

George42,i am sure you will get in later, according to the adcom replied in other thread post,GT accepted a good % of deferred.
your stats are quite good & the Bs in 9th/10th shouldn’t really impact that much…they look for upward trend in grades in 11th/12th.
