-My social life is dead because of this ED and other college apps.
-I planned on treating my interviewer to lunch at the restaurant at which I work, but he got there 1.5 hours early and was making business calls. Had to wait 30 minutes as he called before finding out he had already eaten o.0. lol he talked about RICE's sale of the radio tower and scavenger hunts he did there back in the day.</p>

Well 709 applied in 2009 and 241 were admitted. . .
Makes me feel really nervous now b/c i had 2 B’s first semester and 3 second of junior year.</p>

<p>My alum interviewer went to Rice when it was still called the Rice Institute so I had to explain to him what early decision is… Yeah I’ve had better interviews for sure</p>
<p>Samiam, it seems odd that they would use alumni interviewers who have been out of school so long, especially given the fact that Rice’s interview is suppose to be just as much of a chance for you to get to know the college as it is for the college to get to know you.</p>

Out of curiosity, what made y’all apply to Rice?</p>
<p>I because of the catchey name (was having rice for dinner the day i got the postcard so i did research), great financial aid, IVvy-edu, and most importantly the great quality of life.</p>

Yeah, it’s probably because I live in an area where the alum network probably isn’t very strong. He said he interviews four or five people a year.</p>
<p>Antarius, unfortunately, no he wasn’t. I tried to ask him about study abroad opportunities for Chemistry majors and he said that when he went to Rice the only foreign exposure they had was a small assortment of language classes. Same response to LPAP, medical school, and many other questions. If it wasn’t for the amazing overnight and campus tour, I probably wouldn’t be applying to Rice at all haha</p>

<p>Rice is the only college I listed for the College Match. The chances of being matched are pretty low, so I’ll probably be end up going RD. I would be with you guys in ED if it wasn’t for the financial aid thing. </p>

Umm… nothing really. I put some of my artwork for my Rice box… it was a giraffe tessellation I did for Geometry class. All of the giraffes have different expressions and one’s rainbow-colored. :D</p>
