Welcome everyone…
@ howocreep
ED means early decision and doing this you are agreeing to get enroll in that college if u are accepted.U also need to withdraw all ur other applications as far as i know.
RD means regular decision and u are free to accept or reject their offer weather u r accepted or not.

@ pinkfloyd4life
u arent going to take the tests or u arent planning to give it now???
If 1st ones ur choice, then its awkward…

"ED means early decision and doing this you are agreeing to [] enroll in that college if [you] are accepted.

If you ask for financial aid but not enough is granted to enable attendance, you can decline the offer without consequence.

hmmm…now the thread is getting a little bit exciting…guys comon do post more…maybe i’ll be a 2014ian but maybe also a 2015er so i think i too can help you a little bit…

thanx and about ED, does it increase ur chances of getting in to the college u prefer the most?

^At some schools, sometimes somewhat. How’s that for non-commitment? :)

@ hewocreep
The chances of getting aid is high at the EDs.That’s for sure…
@ vossron

I havent given up any tests YET! I’ll be takin the SAT II in July i guess and the SAT in October

@hewocreep
ED does increase ur chances of getting into ur “dream” colz but not always…n there are different types of early admission as well…like single choice early admission SCEA n sometimes many ED doesnt need be binding

guys a question for all !!! how many here prefer lacs over national universities in us ???

@ prasadian
I prefer national universities…

n btw do research to find out if a particular college allows you to apply early decision if you’re applying for financial aid…these are some of the colleges that explicitly say that if u’re an international candidate applying for aid, then u CANT apply early decision…
- Bennington College, VT
- Occidental College, CA
- Carleton College, MN ( I guess they say that only EXCEPTIONAL int’l candidates will be considered for e.d. with aid…n one dude from Nepal did get in this year through e.d.)
forgot others…will add them as soon as i remember… :-)
