@3333 ive sent you a private message

@elcatalan…Colgate for ED?anyways healthy competition ahead.Even i am not sure about colgate…i havent given my SAT and i doubt my scores would be any extra-ordinary for Colgate

@cheche…even have not given my SAT…but i guess ill be applying to lafayette becoz the guy in the USEF said it matches me more than any other college…i guess i know u…ur from malpi???

@headache101
I am sorry for referring you as a boy lol(I use that myan word very frequent so though mine intention wasn’t that).I too am hoping for 650+in CR.
Welcome to all new users…
I will RD to Colgate and probably Lafayette or Trinity for ED or may be both.
@cheche
Most of us here are giving their SATs for the first time…

hey!!
im new in this thread!!
@Elcatalan.
i will also definately apply lafayette for ED
i heard lafayette is looking forward to more nepalese girls…so i think i have a better chance here.

@ginger101…lafayette is gonna be tough this year i guess then…hope it takes quite a number of neplese…

hey a lot of talk about colgate here. does this college has a history of accepting a lot of nepalese? also, what good chances are there to get accepted in lafayette and/or trinity if
- i have a GPA of 3.8
- am ranked 1st in the class
- get a score in the range of 2000-2100 (hopefully) in SAT I
- hopefully get 650+ or 700 +in SAT II subject tests
- all my volunteering works involve teaching (also giving tuition)
- have a good reco possibly
- have a decent but not that extraordinary essay

@headache101…i heard colagate takes only 1 student from nepal in a year…but m not sure about it…

It would be much more appropriate to rename this thread as Class of 2015 from Nepal EDing to Trinity and Lafayette.

It is likely that these colleges will receive some hundreds of applications from Nepal for the upcoming fall.

@morrion
Well said dude…
@ginger101
Welcome…But who says that Lafayette is going to take more Nepalese girls this year?
@headache101
Colgate,as I have heard,is very stingy in terms of aid.As the girl who got in Colgate this year told me that she and a romanian girl were the only people who got good aids(almost a full ride).Even indians were paying 12k.But it might be that colgate will take one student from Nepal each other with good aids(who knows priority for us).

^^^^
The colgate girl(CC-3333) had Cr-710,Maths-800 and Writing-620.So chance yourself.
Good luck!

yeah, my sister told me to apply to trinity and since then going to its website and everything, i liked the school and lafayette is in my list because it’s a good school as well as it provides engineering programs being a liberal arts college. and ppl!! please answer my question. do i have a good chance at trinity and/or lafayette?
also who thinks that colgate is a nice college but is backing away just a teensy weensy bit because of the name? lol

ok… correction rocker: i PERSONALLY only know only few international students who are on a full ride, there CAN ABSOLUTELY be more that i don’t know of… but there are MANY internationals here paying the full tuition… and its NOT always about the SAT… there are many other factors that come into play when it comes to admission so don’t lean too much on one factor…

Completely unnecessary and misleading. First you’re implying that she got in because of her SAT scores. Second, you’re suggesting that in order to get into Colgate that’s like the “minimum” SAT score you need to get. And, third that if you have SAT scores like that, you stand a pretty good chance of getting which isn’t necessarily true. So, please avoid statements like that in the future.

why are there so many 101s over here?
Aren’t there any colleges except trinity, colgate and lafayette?
Haha…funny…i never hear people speaking about any other college except these three…who is attempting for IVY league schools from here?

Regarding financial aid and full rides…5 years ago, full rides were not a big deal…people used to get so many full rides. After 2007, almost all american colleges want us to pay at least 5k…Its a different thing that people still get very good aid and pay less than 5k a year but its really rare to get that good aid…the more you have ability to pay the more chances to get in…

Example:
candidate A: Candidate B:
Straight As… Average Score(lets say Cs)
SAT: 2000 SAT: similar to A
ECAs: Average ECAS: similar to A
Can Pay: say 3k Can Pay: 10k

now guess who will get in??
obviously candidate A huh? Nah…candidate B has higher chances coz he is PAYING MORE!!!

Found it somewhere…anyone disagrees, please reply

@headache: Yes, Colgate is stingy with aid BUT it has been accepting students from Nepal with full rides. So, don’t not apply to Colgate just for the fear of aid.

“We’ve stepped into the river,on a moonlight drive…” so who’re EDing where???

does GP affect our GPA??? Actually my grades are good but i could manage to get just “C” in Gp… so does that mean i won’t be able to apply to colleges like cornell or stanford??? Plzzzzzzzzzzzzz help

^^^^ BTW i am thinking of doing engineering or econimics!!! so will GP affect???
