<p>it depends on your college…like if you are from malpi they count the best four grades you have, that means if you have 4As and one C that does not matter…and of course you can apply to stanford and cornell dont worry abt that…there are so many chinese students with poor english studying at those colleges (though they get admitted easily due to their mathematics and science)…Adcom looks who you are(overall) rather than your grades…don’t worry so much abt grades…good luck!</p>

The decisions are so random that none of us here can tell you if someone will get into the college of their choice or not.But I feel you have a good chance(I am not the ad com hai remember that).

And btw seems like almost all the CC users are applying on to some top notch and most also EDing and almost everyone are now familiar with other things so lets now concentrate on ISFAA or CSS filling instructions.

<p>i really wanted to ED @ swarthmore but i hear a LOT of people from nepal itself are applying to swarthmore and that in a way, decreases the chances of anyone of us going in. so i am so confused rite now… 
my other colleges are smith, wellesley and maybe bucknell…does anyone know people from nepal who got into johns hopkins with good enough financial aid? undergraduates i.e.</p>

<p>@headache101…i m not sure but check lehigh’s website, i heard they stopped giving high aids due to recession or something. Just heard it somewhere. Yeah, too much focussed on these three colleges, hope things dont turn out unexpected. And why is that colleges are not giving full ride to many students? Before it was like, if you are accepted…you would most likely get full aid.</p>

just believe in ur application…if u feel ur application is ivy material then dont have any doubts…i thought u were gonna go for cornell(werent u?)…anyways just bcoz tons of guys r gonna apply at one place, u shouldnt back down on ur own stance…u know ur strengths! n plz have some confidence in urself! i know u’ll find ur match,everyone does…</p>

cliched? if u dont have a good essay, thats cliche…its the manner in which one represents his/her story…try to have a unique one that will bring a broad smile on an adcoms face when he/she is reading it…bottomline-thers no cliche story in my view ;)</p>

<p>@ prasadian… even from a few posts u can know that i am not confident in myself…that’s how low a self-esteem i have lol. it’s just that i think about something interesting in my life and there’s none that would excite those adcom ppl and i think about what great ‘adventures’ others can write about and that’s so discouraging. i may RD @ cornell RD, it’s not my first choice.
@cheche, i did check lehigh’s website and saw that they don’t consider the writing section of SAT, which is my strongest point grrrrrr…anyways, i can’t think about applying to only top colleges…i heard that those colleges which aren’t ranked that high, if they see colleges u’re applying to are “better” than them, they will waitlist you which i do not want…but maybe they do that only if those top colleges take us or they know that we will surely get into them. anyone else heard about something like this?? also i cannot guarantee this hai, it’s just a rumour…</p>
