Thanks Chandal.
Should I mail to the college asking for a TOEFL waiver or something? And I’ve heard that if you are accepted (even after having a TOEFL score lower than that required by the college), your VISA will be rejected.
Guys, do you know any college(s) that has a TOEFL requirement within my range?

@ chalice, your score is not that low. lehigh has a minimum of 80 and that is a really good uni.

@chalice
I too have got the TOEFL score between 90-100(97 for precise).
Most of the top notches will waive your TOEFL requirement based on your CR score,somewhere above 600I guess, or even if you are studying for the last fours in an English medium school(I have seen this in almost all of the colleges’ website but am not sure though).
And for the visa rejection who says that?Thats total rubbish!!!Very few of Nepalese have scores above 100 who get the Visa.Scores don’t get you your Visa you do.

friends i am new in this site. i want to study 4 nanotech and i dont know where its colleges r. can u pls help me and suggest what course should i study

@amritanand
Welcome to the site…
As per my knowledge,very few colleges do have that field of study.You need to look through each colleges’ website personally or through sites like [College Admissions - SAT - University & College Search Tool](http://www.collegeboard.com),
[Online University Degree Search - U.S. University Directory - State Universities and College Rankings](http://www.stateuniversity.com) and so on.Hope it helps.

@chalice
just worry about your univ and the I20 amount the visaq is not a big deal… for the class of 2014 about 12 of my frenz got the visa and one of my fren (skox) got rejection the first time but got it the second time… so see here 100% visa rate for a good uni and/or low I20 amount.
@amrit
welcum dude. looking forward to help you but in case of nanotech I am not so familiar so maybe sum1 else can help you…
BTW are you familiar with this US admission process or not?? if yes then go for researching nanotech colls else just master the application process, our older post will certainely help you…

@chalice
the only thing(i mean the main thing) that embassy looks at is ur aid…if ur aids/scholarship doesnt seem realistic for u to the embassy, they wont give u a visa…n yeah as others said toefl doesnt possess the same weight as that of SAT/ACT in application selection…n just to let u know 90-100 is a decent score when u look at the students who goto states uni with 80s scoreline…ur on a secure zone man(sorry if ur a girl), do well on ur sats

anyone from +2 other than science who got their results published today, congratulations.
And when is the deadline and everything for WLU? The website seems so messed up unlike others. So they even give aid even if they are low on costs.

^^
WLU no need to worry about the deadlines as you kno state univs are a bit liberal about applying but early bird catches the worm so apply early if you are sure.
Congrats from my side too to all the Mgmt students.

^^^^i absolutely go with prasadian’s view.The most important part of getting your visa is lowering your I-20 amount(there may be few exceptions).

well…the embassy might create problems sometimes if you don’t have TOEFL…this time a boy from malpi got rejected coz he had no TOEFL score! He was going to a good college!!!
I also don’t want to take TOEFL but I guess we like to be in safe side rather than go head to head with those idiots in that red building near Maharajgunj…isn’t it guys?

^^
yes thats true… why risk our chances just for saving 165$ and avoiding 4 hours of rag time???.. go on guys toefl is not that hard its just timepass…

Does Boston Uni. provides good aid(meets need) to internationals?

@amrit::: for nanotech European colleges (especially in NORDIC area) are really great…except cornell, there is hardly any university in the US with a strong program in nanotech that can compete with the nordic universities…i suggest you start looking at european universities(many of them are tuition free) if you are sure abt nanotech…

@all n chalice(since u seem a bit off)
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/891704-do-not-let-anything-discourage-you-applying-stanford.html
READ THIS !! this girl scored 1750 on sat n 90 on toefl(initially 75 !!!) n got into stanford!!! n most surprising thing: shes from fu*king mainland china!!! amazing!

hya man…chinese students are the ones who get accepted in US colleges sooooo easily…there is a lot of political(break one china policy of US) going on inside these acceptances…
but it does not mean that chinese students are not good…they are probably the best for natural science in the world(my personal view)…but you are correct abt not be discouraged…
@chalice…as prasadian says…u need not be that discouraged dude…

@chalice
don’t get discouraged myan… i think you have sum good grades but in mya case ta I dun even have that also and ECA also not so good only sth good is I might end up with a good essay and a good ACT score and still I am not so hopeless… common myan what goes? give your luck a try as the process is so random you might even get in there…

@confidential2015: As far as i know… international students applying to BostonU are not entitled to any financial aid :-(

Thanks for cheering me up, people! I just hope I get a whooping SAT score. Grades? Mine’s average. (+2) I now need some safety colleges, just to be on the safe side :)

You could try some state unis…which provide full tuition as safety…
