@confidential2015:
I missed sumthin to write: Acc to COMMON APP ONLINE SCHOOL FORMS feature, a GC shud opt either Online forms or Paper forms for all students…GC cant chose online for few students and paper forms for others.I found this note sumwhere in commonapp…

but hamro college ma ta Class 9-12 sabai include garne transcript nai chhaina…9,10, 11+12 ko chutta chuttai pathaidida pani hunchha hola hai??

Ani 1 more thing, Even if a college doesnt ask, can we send our CV or resume??
1 of my friends had suggested me to send a CV to all colleges, but i have never heard of doin so??Is sending CV applicable?

@chandal…i agree with you @durlav1n1…i don’t think its so…even if it is so…whats the problem…tell ur GC to send all paper apps…thats fine.
You need to have ONE combined transcript. You GC should know how to make it. Ask with your GC. You school will make it for you. Almost all the schools know how to make a combined transcript. @sarb… is it 4-1? I thought it was a 4-2 thing…

@josephite hey, did u really check 3-2 thing? did u read everything about it? i mean the complex issues 3-2 carries…like you are not guaranteed the ‘2’( it is not guaranteed that you will be able to transfer to somewhere like columbia) after u attend LAC, you won’t get any aid for the final 2 years…you will get really poor facilities even if you goto columbia for your last 2 years…blah blah…did u check all that?

even 4-1/2(confused) is similar thing…but in this case you don’t get a Bachelor of Engineering. Instead you get Bachelor in Science and the directly Masters in Engineering…

Regarding 3+2 : exactly as what cofidential said, I dont know what you read. If you are aid-seeking international student (which almot 99% of Nepalese in Top Colleges are) then its simply going to be too difficult for you. Columbia does guarantee admission for you (If you maintain above 3.something (cant remember exactky, have positive recommendation from 3+2 advisor and physics department). Tough luck with aid though, with fee that crosses $50 thousand, even with stellar grades dont expect more than $10 thousand in aid (Although exceptions might be there with higher aid) So the only factor hampering us is Aid. If you have the money go for it or else look for other options (I didnt even talk about other colleges because they have virtually zero aid and columbia is an Ivy)

Damn… looks like almost all of you studied and want to study Science. My question on Business program got lost somewhere. Looks like a wrong place to ask.

@confidential 2015 and here123…yep i checked the posts…but i wouldn’t mind landing up with a B.S degree with major in Physics and Economics if i don’t get good aid good aid in columbia or washington uni…so i think ill go for it…

@cheche
I don’t know the names of specific LACs and State Universities focused for business but I guess most of them have that program.And for the aid part I guess that is totally nonsense.Major is not the criteria for scholarships(unless the departmental)and aid.But getting into medical courses in any college is very very very hard for international students mostly in Graduate studies which as per my knowledge also extends to undergraduate studies.But for business its the same like any other major.

@cheche…why do you want to go for a specific program at this level? business is regarded as professional program rather than academic in the US. Why don’t u go for economics at LAC and later go for business in Masters??

I think another strong liberal arts college in business would be F&M college. Although it strong in science programs as well. Plus business as a major is IMO strong in almost all top tier liberal arts colleges. Admission rates is usually better (Comapred to institutions having same amount of aid ) and better international population. Now if you are looking for something best of kind, then I would say Wharton nd after that specific business schools in Top Universities (although I dont have the slightlest idea about the aid there, my guess is its going to be very very tough)

WOW!!! this thread is moving really fast!!!

Contradictory to what I write here in my engineering papers, Lehigh does have awesome engineering programs. (Yeah, i just make fun of Lehigh engineering and get good grades here!!)

I don’t know about Trinity, but Lafayette, as far as I know, does not have any Nepalese working in Admissions. Make sure you research each college properly because people might find the colleges that they go are not fit for them. Lafayette’s a small school and if you dont think you can spend 4 years in a small school, don’t come here. I can walk from one corner to another corner of the school in about 12-15 mins flat. I don’t know why people are only focused on Trinity and Lafayette (if what you said was correct, durlav1n1)

Don’t rely too much on practice test scores. I scored 150 pts more in practice than I got in actual. I’m not saying that’ll happen to you, but you might score a little low in the real test.

Don’t use too much Nepali, unless you want to be banned from CC. People have been banned by using too much nepali.

Best wishes for SAT on oct 9, if you’re taking it.

has CC changed itself or my screen’s settings are not correct? the whole thing used to completely fit in my screen till yesterday…its completely different today…

yaa…this year there are lots of applicant for Trinity and Lafayette from Nepal…
I really heard abt this…
I dun kno why Lafayette (must b bcoz its a gr8 collg)…but Trinity because of last year’s acceptance. As confidential2015 said in #1456…last years acceptance from Nepal was quite high (#5 students), so all have Trinity on top of their list (including me )…
But I guess all of us shud be aware that acceptance rate varies from year to year and they may not accept a single student this year from Nepal ?
But still Trinity is one of my ED options (no supplements…gr8)
