<p>^My fault. I read Franklin only…Olin is a really good college for engineering. They used to provide full tuition to every admitted student before the financial crisis. Now, they provide half tuition to every admitted student. That means, you need to pay half tuition+room+board+misc. which might sum up to $35k!</p>

I am … from Nepal. I am an prospective class of 2015 student from Nepal. I am from one of the A Level Colleges in the Valley. Yes! I want to apply to United States for Undergraduate Study. But the thing that now at this time I have done nothing.</p>
<p>Yes! Nothing at this point. I thing I did was gave TOEFL and SAT, that also due to my friends. I have not made a college list. I want to apply to ED. I have not asked teachers for recommendation. I want to study engineering. I have not started even looking at Personal Essay. I want to get into financial safe college. I have not even filled one item in CommonApp. I want get things right. I am ignorant about ISFAA. I don’t know how to send application fee to the college which don’t waive fees when applying. After reading some post here I knew that we send application through CommonApp(depending on school) and supplements through mail. I know about cost of these(Credit: Above posts). This whole 1/2 months I have been bored about the College Process I just keep thinking it will happened and procrastinated, and working on all other stuffs. Yeah! My ECA is Damm! Awesome! (I’m not bragging.)</p>
<p>Now, from Today I want to get serious about the application process. Where should I start from ? Which are must read post from CC for me to get a picture of how the whole process works. International Students, Financial Aid, Forms, Supplements and all those missed stuffs by me ? What are website that I need to update ? What are the papers and stuffs I need to get from my school and teachers ? What and How many are the writings that I need to do ? What are the other preparations I need to make ? What will be my special preparation for ED ? What are forms I need to fill right now ? How this financial aid work ? Do we have to show रु 20/25 Lakh in bank or this is joke ? Do I have to go to consultancy as it is TOO LATE ? I can do everything on myself ? What will the responsibility of my parents ? For which papers will the be responsible ? What does the application packet mean when I send online ? Can’t supplements and other stuffs be sent online ? Most importantly how to NOT freak and manage time ? How to make a practical college list ?</p>

<p>These are lot of question but can you all direct to the right path ? Now I am serious. Even before I was working for many ECA stuffs to I forget this whole thing ?</p>

welcome to the community and ya we all are here to help each other. Ok here’s just a simple view of mine regarding your post… dun take it the other way hai feri…Instead of writing your problem and help wanted thing in such a long and time consuming way you could have read few pages dude…and if you have done the reading part then you almost have al the idea… about you doing nothing don’t say it nothing you are also on the same track as we are… just go deep in research about the coleges and make a list thats it( it sounds simple but it aint that simple) and then its upon you to decide where to ED and I suggest you to be a bit fast dates are almost here dude. <p>You don’t have your personal essay->Start it, finish it before November 1st (I mean ASAP) You need not worry about the essay if you are not applying ED. Since you have told that you are interested in ED, you can apply ED II instead of ED I</p>
<p>You want a college with lots of aid for internationals->Almost all the PRIVATE universities(as u told u are opting engineering) award handsome amount of money. <p>You want to get things right->Then be serious!</p>
<p>You are ignorant about ISFAA-> Its full form is International Student Financial Aid Application. You need to fill it up if you want need based financial aid at American universities.</p>
<p>You don’t know how to send application fee(if the college is not ready to waive it)->Just ask the admission counselor at the specific college, they’ll tell you how to do it.</p>
<p>After reading some posts in here, you came to know we send Commonapp online and supplements by mail->Read again, it is not so! You can either send everything online or everything by post or in parts. So what you have told is not the correct way and it is not even THE way to do it.</p>
<p>You know about the cost of sending mail-> That will be helpful</p>
<p>Your ECA is DAMN awesome->Good for you! What about everything else? Academics? TOEFL? SAT I? SAT II? Everything counts!</p>
<p>You want to get serious about application process->Good.</p>
<p>You want to know about the starting point->Look at the points above. Its better if you start with your essay and then go for the reco thing. And then transcript.</p>
<p>You want to know about the most read posts in CC related to international students->You have the internet. Check it out yourself. We can’t spoon feed you.</p>
<p>You want to learn about websites you want to update->Are you a web administrator? How could we know about the websites you want to update? If I’m not wrong, I think you want to know about the websites you need to be up to date with. Is it so? <p>How financial aid works->Its a really long process. Rather than going deep in financial aid’s features, focus on other things. I’m not saying that you need not know about it, but you are already late. So, you must catch up with others by focusing on other things. On top of that, understanding about financial aid’s different aspects is not a joke. No one can tell you about it in a single post. Even if someone gives you all the information about how financial aid works, you wont be able to understand it at once. It takes a long time. By the time you apply for RD, you will understand it.</p>
<p>About Rs. 25/35 lacs->That just bulls*it. </p>
<p>Going to consultancy->You may. It depends upon you. If you can catch up, doing everything by yourself is alrite. But if you can’t catch up with others, I think a consultancy will be a good option. I strongly suggest Dikshya if you are thinking of consultancy. They have really great record!</p>
<p>Responsibility of Parents->Not to discourage you! Sign COF, ISFAA. Talk seriously with your parents about the money they will be able to pay for your education. Don’t just predict the money!</p>
<p>Application packet is application packet.There is no difference in online thing and paper app. Some go for online app some go for hard copy

<p>Time Management->At least for one month, don’t go on a date.</p>
