I don"t understand how the principal in other schools are releasing the results. Our principal in PA said he got the results yesterday but they are not allowed to release till the 10th Sept.

Hi there. DS was notified by his college counselor today - SE Boarding School region, 218

@OklahomaHSKid did you receive anything via U.S. Mail today, or was it just the letter your counselor showed you? Congratulations, by the way!

Confirmed La cutoff is 208.

@HeliMom74 I’ve received nothing in the mail, it was just the letter that the counselor showed me. Thank you!

Any news on the Florida cutoff? I don’t think BeyondBelief was commenting on the actual cutoff, only his own score.

I swear, I’m right on the edge this year with a 212. And they even mismarked some of my responses smh.

@DMAzai, I’m in the same boat with a 212 here in MO. Someone posted that they got NMSF with a 213 in this state, but no news of the cutoff. If anyone knows anything about Missouri, please do share.

CONFIRMED VIA HS COUNSELOR: Cutoff for TEXAS is indeed 218.

Is there any way to appeal scores? I’m gonna be livid if the two questions that got mismarked on my math section are gonna be the difference. There were several other people in my class with mismarkings too.

TN - student at my sons school made it with a 212

Dorhawk - thanks so much. That’s what I’ve been waiting for - confirmation. My son was lucky with a 219. Hope your kid made it.

@Varanasi, the exact wording of the letter reads: “Except for your family and your high school principal, this information is confidential until Wednesday, September 10, 2014…” So yes, the letters can be given out prior to then, otherwise that sentence makes no sense, right?

@Varanansi I don’t think your principal would score very well on the Reading Section of the PSAT.
The letter states, “Except for Semifinalists and their families, this information is confidential until Wednesday, September 10…”

@CupertinoRaider - Can you please tell us what exactly your kids’ HS in Calif informed them? Did they say what the California NMSF cutoff is? Or just informed the kids that they made the cut? Is it possible at all for you to confirm with the kid who said he made the cut with a 222. That will calm my nerves as I am a Calif dad with a son who is sitting on the edge with a 222 score. Really appreciate your help in confirming this as we haven’t seen any other postings for less than 225 so far from Calif!

OK, I’m back now - & sitting upright.

First of all, Thank You One Million Times Over to everyone who celebrated the 213 in KS with me. I’m giving a shout-out to my new student friend @hagzzz and hoping that @hagzzz’s principal is well-informed. It’s certainly a promising data-point, and I appreciate @hagzzzz’s follow-up w/me via PM, so now I will wait to make sure his principal is correct…via our own principal (whatever the heck that guy is doing - it’s not NMSF today, unfortunately)…and we will all keep moving forward together. For those of us who do not have paperwork in-hand…lets keep going until we see something in writing. At least that’s my POV.

I would personally sleep better w/another data point from Kansas, and now I’m also on the hunt for the MO cut-off because a dear friend is in a similar situation to mine and I want to get her news as soon as possible.

We have lots of other states that haven’t been heard from yet, so - to our students out there - I think the advice to go on Twitter is excellent. I’m not Twitter-savvy enough to make much headway there for my own purposes. Perhaps try various hashtags with the “Search Near You” filter?

Who here is on the East Coast? Have you tried DC Urban Mom yet? I know, I know: What mom from Kansas reads DC Urban Mom? Well, this one does - it’s like a whole other world & it keeps me entertained - but they don’t have anything about KS/MO NMSF on DCUM, so I’m spending all my online time HERE.

(I wonder who’s watching my kids right now?)

Lets press on, people. We still have a lot of ground to cover!

And Congratulations to all our new NMSFs! I have completely lost track of you, but I am elated for you if you are 100% certain you’re in. Please stay with us, if you can, to cheer on the folks still waiting.

Maybe we will have an updated list soon…

I have to say that it is good (and funny) to see so many new members on this thread. Obviously, it is very important to many. On a side bar, nothing from my D’s school or from D.

@GoAskDad So very happy for you and your kiddo!!! And a huge congratulations to all the hard working students and their parents who have confirmed status. Now wish we had some hard numbers for Florida. All our principal said was we had six semi finalists. Would not give out names.

We’re still here in NY. I suspect it will go to 217 or 216 but it would be REALLY AWESOME if it could scoop up those students with 215 (and 214 for my CC friend upcounty). Anyone hear any more from NY?
