**Class of 2015 University of Chicago Admissions Decisions Discussion**

Check your app. Can you confirm you applied EA?

yes, I got an email saying this in early Nov:

Greetings from the University of Chicago!

Thank you for starting the application process by submitting the Common Application or our UChicago supplement. Please set up your UChicago Account on the College Admissions website. This will be our main source of communication throughout the admissions process. After you have submitted the Common Application or our UChicago supplement you will receive an email with a PIN that allows you to:

and when I log into my account, it says:

Access to check the documents in your file for ALL applicants is closed. We are completing the decision process for Early Applicants at this time. Regular Decision applicants will have the opportunity to review their documents at a later date. Thank you.

Doesn’t matter. Even if you applied early but made a clerical error and selected regular decision, you will be evaluated as regular decision.

youngchangpiano - … and below where it says access to the documents is closed, is there a “status update” posted on Friday? If not, they or their computers don’t think you requested early action. You should contact the admissions representative for your region.

catherinneee, what were your higschool stats like. Im a junior and its my dream to get into University of Chicago. What impression do you have to make on your the essays?

please my problem is finding scholarship in chigaco

yes i can finish it

i applied EA and was accepted, but scholarships are a pain to find. suggestions?

I made it through EA but I feel that UChicago isn’t a suitable school for me to thrive in premed :frowning: …

Did you get any answers to this question. My daughter got an award letter for the University Scholar merit award, though her amount is $5,000 per year. I am trying to understand how many they give out.

I don’t think they report the total number of University Scholar awards.

I just got a likely letter telling me I would get accepted and with info about the accepted students weekend. I didn’t know UChicago gave these out. I am really happy about this esp. because UChicago was my first choice school and I didn’t think I was as competitive as other students. Did anyone else get one of these in the past few days??

I was informed by a coach that I will be receiving a likely letter sometime this week since they sent them out at the end of last week. How did you get the likely letter in the mail yesterday if post offices were closed because of presidents day?

The letter was posted onto my UChicago account when I went online to check my application status to see if they received my midyear reports. I got the actual paper letter in the mail today.

I just checked my account… I got the likely letter too! I have yet to receive the actual paper letter in the mail though. So excited. Anyway, congratulations madrigal93!

are u guys all athletes?

Well i am. Not sure about the others.

I’m not…

@ Catherineee

Hi! I got a likely letter from Chicago, but I’m still debating whether to go there or UF, my state school. What makes you like UChicago so much?

Thanks for any help!

What is a “likely” letter and what is the difference between that and getting an acceptance letter or e-mail?
