**Class of 2015 University of Chicago Admissions Decisions Discussion**

It’s just a letter that comes before official decisions that notifies the person that they are basically going to be accepted. Generally reserved for “special” applicants; ie athletes, top URM’s, and extraordinary students.

I see. Thanks very much for the info.

Am I the only one who finds it a little scary that all of these people received likely letters?!

I know I am!!! Uchicago’s my favorite school; I love it more than even the ivies I applied to.
The fact that others have gotten likely letters makes me sick to the stomach :(

That means you are not strong enough for Chicago.

Barnard, very possible, Wellesley, kind of possible.

SAT: 2160
CR: 720
Math: 690
Writing:750 with 12 essay

SATII
History: 770
Lang: 740
Bio:730

If i’m not mistaken, last years decisions were available on the 25th? If they were to follow that same plan then we’d all be hearing a week from friday!!! That’s almost rediculous. Like many of you, Uchicago is one of my favorite schools, so I guess all we can do is cross our fingers and try to stop googleing Uchicago admit statistics every 15 minutes until then (which I say, but I know I’ll be back here crunching some numbers tomorrow!)

I did not receive a likely letter (2270 SAT, third in my class of 350, all state musician W/E but oh darn I have to keep waiting) so I count myself among one of many students on the brink of insanity at this point. However, I still have some hope, and you all should too! GOOD LUCK!!!

Actually, they came out the 19th last year, so I’m hoping for the 18th this year, since they seem to like Fridays!!! (:

6 more days!

^AHHHHHHHHH! So nervous! D:

I’ve been telling myself decisions come out on Friday, so if they don’t I don’t know what I’m going to do haha. :)

I keep hitting my head to my desk because of how nervous I am… jk.
But i REALLY want to go to chicago

I’d sincerely thank Chicago if they give me a “no”- again, after I got deferred. Not that I’d be happy about it, but still.

Straight off the Uncommon Blog:
"On Friday you will receive an email with instructions on how to view your admissions decision via your UChicago Account. We will also mail admitted students their acceptance packets on this day. Waitlisted and Denied students will not receive notification by mail.

Please be reminded we cannot give decisions by phone, email, or any other means of communication except for the letter in your College Admissions account or in the mail."

So I guess 18th it is?
Haha, freaking out much?

In response to GF2015: This is not necessarily true. Those stats are much better than mine and I got into UChicago early action last year. And, even so, stats aren’t everything for UChicago: the essay is the most important component of the application.

i’m really nervous now…really hope i get in! uchicago is my numero uno choice :frowning:  :frowning:
mixture of emotions right now hahaha.

Im so glad that the decisions are finally coming out ! What time do you think they’ll be out on the 18th?

Is getting an email from the Assistant Director of Admissions about additional accomplishments any indication of acceptance?

Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using CC App

and another 55 more hours. i keep banging my head on the wall. omgomgogomgom

What time (in EST) are the decisions being released?

Friday, 3.00pm CDT, so technically around 4pm EDT. not 100% sure, but I think that is it.
