AHHHHH! Why hasn’t my audition been received? It’s terrifying seeing everyone get accepted and know that they haven’t made a decision on me yet. Looks like another rejection for sassystage!!! Thank god I have UCI.

No news online or in the mail though everything has been received. I have several friends who live near me who have received acceptances and rejections today…

sassystage- I’m in the same boat! Auditioned Feb 4 at the NY Unifieds, and audition is still ‘not received.’

I know several who have not heard from Ithaca yet. Hang in there. I don’t think they tell all at one time.

Accepted today for mt :D

To those like me that still haven’t heard anything:

Well, I did some snooping around on myithaca. I found an accepted student, clicked on their major of acceptance, and all the myithaca accounts of people that have been accepted to that major showed up. The number of people that came up is pretty close to the number Ithaca said would admit (30 so far for Acting, and 26 for MT, so not very many spots are left).

It’s most likely a no for me, so I should be getting my rejection soon. Sad, because it would have been such a great opportunity, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. Best of luck to everyone :)

stresshskid is exactly right!
To clarify: if you log into myIthaca and click the IC Peers tab, scroll down and in ‘MAJOR’ type either Acting or Musical Theater (NOT Musical Theatre) you will get all the accepted kids in either program.
(There are 30 kids in Acting and 26 kids in MT, which I think stresshskid already stated)
Good luck to all and congrats to those accepted!

If it’s over then why do I still show audition not received in the pink box?

It is not over. I spoke with the school this morning and not all decisions have been made. The admissions office said they had not received word from the Theater department yet either way which is why the audition has not moved, and they also mentioned they had until April 15! Really hope they finish up sooner than that for my sanity’s sake!

I find it incredible that applicants can view a list of names of those offered admission to the program!

This is not the same as AFTER applicants decide where to matriculate and the school shares a list of their incoming classmates.

It really is nobody else’s business where you have been accepted, unless you CHOOSE to share such information with others, including strangers.

It does seem unusual that you can see who is accepted, but it is on the Ithaca website – although some of the students only use a “user name” and no picture – so all you really know for sure is how many are accepted for each major. Other students use their real names as their “user name” and pictures and that shows on the website.

It is not a public part of the Ithaca website – but other applicants can view the information.

Yes, I understand that only applicants can view it but it is highly unusual, in my opinion.

I agree with soozie–then again, so much of this process is unusual, why not this too!?

Does Ithaca typically use a waitlist for MT and Acting? At the discussion before my D’s audition at Unifieds, they seemed to be saying that b/c of the number they accept that they don’t usually take kids from a waitlist, but I may have misunderstood that.

^There is no waitlist. I remember Lee Byron telling us at the audition that he wanted all accepted students to truly feel like they were first choice.

Sorry for double posting but IT FINALLY MOVED. Just a few minutes ago, too. Everyone else, hang in there! I’m sure your audition will be “received” soon!

Keep in mind that most schools accept more applicants than spots in the class because they know they will not yield 100% of those students who got offers. So, there are “built in extras” so to speak, before ever going to the wait list. Ithaca is such a school that accepts more than the number of slots in the class. There are some schools that accept the exact number of slots in the class and then use a wait list such as CMU and Otterbein. Some schools have extras offered acceptance AND have a wait list.

I have a feeling that another rejection is on the way. I always make it to the last round before I get rejected! That’s what I think all of us, who just got received or still aren’t received, are - the last rejected before they’ve solidified the class. Mine just switched.

I’m starting to feel pretty guilty for blowing money on this. Yes, I’m close everywhere, so I suppose it was a worth a shot, but fate is not in my favor! Why waste my time and money on something so ridiculous as this!

Sorry for the negativity, everyone, but this crazy process is really starting to get me. No other person in the world beside us MTers has to go through something as expensive and ludacrious as this.

I, too, am disturbed that people can click on others in their major who have been accepted and see who those people are. Seems wrong and an invasion of privacy. As soozievt said, it is different once you accept the acceptance. But otherwise …

Hmmmm …

I was accepted yesterday and got a packet in the mail, I know a bunch of other kids who got the same thing yesterday.
Is there a time that we have to notify the school by on our acceptance?
