Class of 2015

Accepted!!! Northern NJ

Accepted from PA! Not sure if I’m going, though. Muhlenberg was kind of one of my last choices simply because it’s so close to home. But my parents are crazy about it, and to be perfectly honest, there’s not a great chance I’m going to get into some of the other schools I applied to, so who knows? Muhlenberg may be my new home come fall!

Accepted! I’m from northern NJ too  Not sure that I’m actually going to end up going there… my situation is basically the same as izzys123’s actually!

Did your acceptance letter come with the financial aid offer?
I got my acceptance today but there was no financial aid award with it.
Does that come separately?

Has anyone that applied with the SAT-optional program hear back yet?

My D got accepted too but is waiting to hear from some other schools (Theatre). It said Financial offers will be mailed separately later this month. Congrats to all. They only accepted 12% of the students that applied.

12%?

Congrats to your daughter, but your math is off.

You have made a mistake with your figure of 12 percent. The letter said 4800 kids applied for 580 spots but there are going to accept more then 580 because not every kid will end up attending the college. According to us news [Muhlenberg College | Best College | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/muhlenberg-college-3304) the acceptance rate is 45.4 percent. According to my book Princeton review best 371 colleges it is 40 percent. Those are from past years so if they did have 4800 applications and 580 spots I would guess based on a 31% matriculation rate that they had a 32% acceptance rate. You don’t know if all those applications were complete or not so it is hard to tell so for a ballpark figure it is most likely 40%. I’m assuming based on your post you got 12% by doing 580/4800 i could be wrong though. Congratulations on your accomplishment muhlenberg is a fine school.
I might have made a mistake with some numbers as i don’t not have my acceptance letter with me i am to lazy to get it. I just wrote this for others knowledge but its not like the acceptance rate matters anyway a school can have a 100 percent acceptance rate and be more competitive then a school with a 1 percent rate. Depends on who is applying.

My son was accepted. Theater program. Boulder, CO. Good to know about the financial aid offers. Does that include merit aid as well? My son was offered a very generous scholarship by another school and we were a little surprised that Muhlenberg did not offer him any money.

Unfortunately, without some help, we will not be able to afford to send him.

Oops! I did read it incorrectly. That did seem incredible.

Scholarships letters aren’t mailed till later in march. You can receive up to 16000 dollars a year and an additional 4000 dollars a year if you applied for rj fellows or dana and there is more you can look on the website it will tell you. You can also receive need based if you can’t afford it, if you fill out the fafsa.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately my son was not invited to apply for either the Dana or RJ Fellows. Hopefully, other merit aid is in the works.

My daughter was just accepted also, planning on majoring in theatre. We are in Denver, CO. Anxious to find out about financial aide as well.

My daughter was also accepted for theatre. We are very happy. My daughter is waiting to hear from other schools as well but I, personally, think Muhlenberg is perfect for her. We will have to wait and see about FA, however.
Does anyone know when accepted students day will take place?
Congrats to all

Muhlenberg’s Accpeted Students day is called, “Through the Red Doors”. For the class of 2015, the date is Saturday, April 9.

We have had the invite for more than a week. You might want to give them a call.

For anyone wondering, I just received my scholarship offer today, so I’m guessing Muhlenberg sends their scholarship offers/FA offers about a week after they send their acceptance letters.

congrats! izzys123 would you mind sharing what was the scholarship amount and did it included Dana fellow scholarship or any other research scholarship?

I still haven’t gotten a response back from Muhlenberg. This is bothering me. I really want to know if I got in or not.

It was their President’s Scholarship, so 13k a year so long as I live on campus and keep a 3.0 GPA. Needless to say, my parents and I were pretty excited about it :)

itsjai, my D received the same award izzy received and the letter says it does not include any honors program $$ which will be sent separately.
