If I get into USC, I'm almost definitely going to go there. I'm not sending in any more applications if I get in. (Hopefully I'll know in December!) The only other school that might sway me is App State, but I think USC is it.

Anyways, hopefully I'm not jumping the gun, but I'm curious to get to know the other students that I might be going to school with for the next four years.

So if you think you'll be a member of the class of 2015 post here and tell about yourself. lol

well I didn’t want to stay too close to home and I was looking for big schools. I like the weather in the south, visited USC during the summer and liked it enough to apply.

My first choice is probably Penn State, but I liked Clemson too. I think I have the best chance to get accepted at USC though, because I don’t have great stats.

I’m not sure if I’m going to attend. I am applying to 12 schools and I’m also applying for a AROTC and NROTC scholarship, so crappy financial aid won’t hold me back from attending one of my “top” schools (assuming I do ROTC). But getting a ROTC scholarship is not guaranteed and I applied really late.

In-state, I could go to Ohio State, which is a pretty good school. It probably has a better rep than South Carolina, but I am looking for something different and USC may end up being cheaper because of a scholarship. Plus, OSU and USC are both kind of regional schools, i.e. if I go to OSU, I’m probably going to end up working in Ohio or maybe Indy (some OSU grads end up in Chicago, but not a lot. I don’t know if this is preference or if Chicago companies don’t recruit OSU that hard, with other great schools close by) and if I go to USC, I’ll probably end up working in the Carolinas. Charlotte is very appealing to me as a business major with the presence of a lot of banks in that area. I plan on majoring in International Business and maybe doubling it with poli sci or Finance if I go to USC and I know USC has one of the best Intl biz programs in the country.

I have not visited USC either. Not yet at least. I’m definitely going to visit if I’m seriously considering USC come April.

wildandyoung, you made some very good points, but I have a few more to consider. USC is considerably smaller than OSU, but still pretty large. I am not as familiar with OSU’s recruiting, but a ton of USC grads also end up in Atlanta and more and more are moving to Chicago and NYC each year. Finally, the International Business program is #1, which is a great accolade to play up when interviewing for jobs or grad school. I hope you choose USC!

Hi! I applied too and it’s my first choice as well. I’m from Massachusetts and applied to six schools total and already received an acceptance letter from the other SC school I applied to. Interested to major in Criminal Justice/minor in Psych. Go gamecocks!

Not sure about that, but I’m pretty sure it’s mail-only.

And they’ll be released the week of December 13, provided that you sent everything in on time. Ideally, you’ll find out on December 15 (the Wednesday).

Their website says that the majority of applicants are deferred to regular decision, but you can receive acceptance or denial at that time.
