Class of 2016 admission notification?

Does anyone know when undergraduates will be notified on their admission? When did they come out last year? Do they email or come out by mail?

thanks ;-)

they will be mailing out letters on the 27th.

Generally how long does it take for the letters to reach the recipient? haha

I live in Ohio

How do you know ND will mail letters on 27th? No disrespect but an honest question.

My daughter’s Early Action package took a week to get to Massachusetts.

Another post on CC indicated that they would released on the 27th, however I have the intention of calling the admissions office to confirm that. What annoys me is that I was hoping to visit over spring break if I were admitted, but now it might cut way too close in order for me to plan such a trip in such a small period of time. I’m coming from Brooklyn, NY.

My D would be delighted with the annoyance - and we’d be coming from California.

Are we still talking about thick or thin envelopes? If ND sends you a standard business letter envelope it is declined or waitlisted. If it is large envelope you been admitted.

March 27th can’t come soon enough.

I’m so mixed! If it’s good, I want it ASAP, but if it’s bad, I don’t want it to come- like ever. It’s better to have hope than have nothing!

It’s annoying because ND sends large envelopes for acceptances and small ones for rejections. Woop.

Waitlist offers also come in small envelopes. Some years, there are a good number taken from the waitlist, but last year there were only seven. It depends on how many of those accepted commit by May 1, and the number of male/female acceptances. ND is one of the few schools that consider gender since all freshmen are required to live on campus. There are 15 mens’ dorms, but only 14 womens’ dorms.

yes but each dorm houses a different number of people, so there are probably an equal number of beds otherwise there would be a constitutional issue regarding unequal facilities.

I agree that they most likely have the same number per gender, but it would not be a constitutional issue because it is a private institution.

The overall gender balance for all college students is approaching 60% women and 40% men.

The applicants for the 2011 freshman class were 50% male, 50% female. Admissions were 52% male, 48% female, enrollees were 54% male, 46% female. ND is one of the few major universities that have a male majority.

They said on twitter they at they are sending them out the first week of April and to call if you haven’t heard by April 9th

Last year my son’s friend received her letter on March 27.
