@bruno14, I applied to PLME. Would you talk a bit about your experiences with the program and such? My interviewer had friends in it and they all seemed to love it, but I’d love to hear from a current student as well. :)

@batfan:

I’ve talked a lot about PLME in my previous posts - go ahead and search through them. If you still have questions after that, I’d be happy to answer.

Hi, I’m Brown '16 (accepted ED), and I just wanted to pop in and say I’m really excited for you guys! You only have a few weeks left, and I can’t wait to see where yall end up. I wish everyone here the best and I’ll most likely be stalking this thread when decisions come out so I can meet all my new classmates :)

Got my LL in the mail today!

Trying hard to stay off CC (it’s not working).
Congrats, CPUscientist! But this late? Where are you from?

I know, at first i thought it was just marketing stuff!

I live in CT! (So geographically i should have gotten it a while ago, but oh well, ITS HERE NOW :))

Does anybody know what the 2016 EA statistics for Brown were?

Congrats to accepted/LL-ers! I’ve gotten none. I have NO IDEA where I’m headed. sigh

ED thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/1253784-official-brown-ed-2016-decisions-7.html

I want to say there is race discrimination for college admission. For Asian student, if the SAT lower than 2300, it is very likely to be rejected immediately. For other races, they still can survive well. Even for Asian student who got very high SAT 2300+, High GPA, lot of activities, strong leaderships, etc, they still got very high chance to get deffered, and then in waitlist and got nothing. I did some investigation on many college threads from those public data and truely admit the fact. It is not fair!

@JustMom2016,
Yes, because Asians are just naturally a high-achieving race. Since colleges want diversity, they pit Asians against Asians - and the top asians, by some measure of extracurriculars, leadership, scores, and personality win out. It’s not always by SAT score though.

It’s official (just got an email) that decisions will be released March 29 starting at 7pm EST!

Just confused why it isn’t 5pm anymore…

Mine said it would be 5 o’clock.

The exact wording in the email was (California Student):
*"Beginning March 29, 2012 applicants to the Class of 2016 can access admission decisions on the web at:

Brown University Admission Decision

We suggest that you bookmark this site; your admission decision will be available online no sooner than 7:00 EDT."*

This allows west coast and Arizona kids time to arrive home from school – a nice gesture from Brown.
