Woohoo my power is finally back after 5 days!

So is Irene completely gone now? I heard it hit Vermont pretty badly.

uh idk I haven’t been able to watch the news lol

Yeah it’s most likely gone now.

well that’s good to hear :D

Hey, can you guys chance me?

up until now ive been in only 4 honors and 1 AP (geometry, trig, precalc, AP US) but next year ill be in AP Calc, AP econ, and all honors except for theology class.

not sure if this really matters, but i had a couple of bad regents this year, 78 on chem and 80 on english (i really regret disagreeing with that quote for the essay…) and although i cant really remember im sure i got a few mid or high 80’s on past math and science regents.

Binghamton isn’t my number one choice but the other schools that I like better are either reaches or too expensive, so ill probably end up there if i get in.

Hello. Can somebody please check me too?

 • I don’t know if this counts but I’m in a band that regularly plays shows that we ourselves book. And the music is all written by us
 • Paid employment at a local restaurant

I plan on taking the ACT this year. I have a great letter of reccomendation lined up. I’m still nervous though. I feel like for every category I’m higher in (SAT), I’m lower in something else (GPA).

Thanks!

@eric2dea definitely.

@micitz yeah your gpa is a little low. But everything else looks great

@eric2dea, yes you are in . It seems like the two MAIN factors to get into Bing is GPA and SATs. Regents don’t matter that much. I know someone that got in last year with a 68 on one of his regents.

@micitz, your GPA and SAT are slightly below the average. Get a strong GPA during your 1st semester of senior year to send as your mid-year report. Definitely go for the ACT, the math section is a joke.

Nice micitz. I play in NJBL as well!!

@NYCDave, I know the GPA is a little low but on the tour I went on (two days ago) the man who lead it said the average SAT is a 1260 which I’m (just) higher than. Has the average score gone up?

Does it matter that I’m related to an alumni who still volunteers at the college and does tours and stuff. Also two of my cousins are alumni as well. I know college board says they consider it but it seems like it wouldn’t actually make a difference.

Yes, alumni relation is a plus. Not significant, but it could be the difference if they’re on the fence about you. Like Hunter said, work on the GPA and if you can, take the SAT again.

or the ACT! I would definitely recommend it if you don’t particularly like the SAT

what is Binghamton’s average 2 part? 1340?

1285 if you believe College Board.

oh that’s not so bad

So my mom’s freaking out because of all the flooding in Binghamton haha. Classes are all canceled and 1,300 refugees are living on campus now

Yeah I heard about that too. My mom mentioned it haha. I hope everyone’s alright!

My friend goes there. He’s fine, but yeah no classes.

The Army was airlifting supplies via Black Hawk landing in the parking lots there haha. The pictures are on their facebook page.
