My GPA is kinda not so great, haha.

agnijay, do you mind sharing where else you are applying? You have great stats!

I sent in my application way back in august with an essay, and didn’t hear anything yet. I’m scared now. it sounds like you’ll get in though!

Haha, I sure hope so! Maybe they’re reading them backwards? Like, starting from the ones that were submitted last week…

If you want to see a copy of the letter, just PM me.

I’m also applying to OSU, UIUC, Minnesota, Columbia, [SLU, Cincinnati, Kentucky, UIC, Shepherd, Michigan Tech, and South Alabama]

The ones in the brackets are the ones that have BS/MD programs which I am applying to.

Good luck everyone, and I hope you hear soon!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I’m out of state! From Illinois, if you wanted to know.

I feel like that wouldn’t make sense though, they should look at the first applicants, since it is first come first sever with rolling admissions. is your last name the the beginning of the alphabet? mine’s near the end, so that could be how they’re doing it. They may have gathered all the ones in between two certain dates and alphabetized them.

have you been in contact with them a alot? like maybe if you’ve kept in touch, they’d email you. I don’t know…

I just hope they like my essay. what was yours about? Sorry i’m so nosy. I just have my heart set on it, and I have a good GPA and resume, it’s just my SAT’s scores are super low. so it’s like 50/50 or less for me to get in.

ohhh and what school did you apply to? like business or arts and sciences/ect.?

gabimaylock, do you mind to share your stats too?

sure.

GPA: 3.68
SAT
Reading: 590
Math: 430 (what i’m worried about the most, especially since i’m looking for a degree in business)
Writing: 530
I’m like in the top 10% I think (around there, I forget exactly)

Resume:
Jr- Sr Class President
NHS member
NAHS member
Student Council
Varsity Club Member
AcDec
Yearbook Production
4 years of Varsity Cross County
3 years of Track
1 year of Drama
Worked at a cafe from 10th grade to present

I really think it’s like 50/50 chance for me, it’ll be pure luck. But I applied right after I went to the summer visit and wrote an essay on why I would be a good candidate for pitt acceptance.

Yeah, that could be it. My last name starts with an “A.”

I applied Pre-med to Arts & Sciences.

I did the evaluate a person who influence you, and I wrote about the first time I a cadaver (the cadaver influenced me.)

I visited sophomore year and talked to an alumni rep back in April at my high school’s college fair, but that’s pretty much it…

I guess it could be the alphabetic thing. I’m more worried about money, to be honest. It seems that they’re really stingy with scholarship money, and while I have fallen in love with Pitt, as a NMSF, I have much cheaper options if they don’t give me a whole lot of money.

Also, gabi, they accepted a 1620 from my school, so keep your hopes up!

I know what you mean, too. Pitt is probably my most expensive choice, but at least if I know I’m accepted, I could figure out my options later on.

Okay, I’d still be 100 point lower than them, but do you know his/her GPA?

Hope you get in, let me know when you hear from them!

Although your GPA is a little low, your other stats are great. I think you’ll be getting some scholarship stuff in the mail in a few weeks! Don’t lose hope yet! (Pitt especially loves OOS students/giving them money). Did you get into the UHC?

I also received an email saying thank you for submitting an essay with your application and that my essay stood out among the thousands they read and if you have not already received notice about the status of your admission then you will soon. I had already been accepted but I wonder if everyone who submits an essay gets an email?
