Class of 2016: EA/Regular decision discussion

Thanks, cmc. saman42–Are you native? If not, that’s impressive. I got a 790 in US history. I know how you feel… Actually, not really. I was happy to have a 790 on that test :)

wiz, nope lol I’m middle eastern like you. I guess I’m happy with the score, I just really wanted to see an 8 there lol.

I hope I’m not being racist here, but since you are Middle Eastern, do you like falafel?

^ I’m not (well, technically I’m about 1/8 Israeli), and I love falafel.

@wizkid94: 5 on APUSH and Chem, 800 on USH SAT II, 790 on Chem SAT II

Debating whether or not to take the Spanish SAT II, but I don’t think I will because I already have three and the AP exam should count for placement.

I’m Indian and I love falafel.

I’m glad we can all agree about the deliciousness of falafel. What region of India? I happen to love South Indian food as well. Anyway, I’m glad I’m not the only one whose taste for world affairs is at least in part literal.

I do like falafel, but not as much as other middle eastern foods like biryani, bastilla, and dolma.

Oh yeah and HUMMUS.

I do like Indian food better than middle eastern food, though. A huge plate of rice with some chana dal, some chicken tikka, and about 50 samosas…mmmm.

Hummus > Falafel

I like Indian Biryani better, despite it having originated from Iran.

Well, I’m from North India (That’s where all the Chicken dishes like Tandoori chicken, butter chicken and the tikkas come from), but I’m living in South India. It sucks, the cuisine is super vegetarian, which is kinda depressing.

Yeah, I eat the vegetarian southern ones. I really like how the food is spiced. I went to a northern Indian restaurant once in Boston. It wasn’t bad, but it was a little bland, at least comparatively. I guess it didn’t help that a member of my party was a Hindu from Mumbai.

Oh, that restaurant sucks then. North Indian food is really good. It has the perfect blend of spice, sweet and flavor. It’s anything but bland. The hindu part really doesn’t matter anymore, you should see my hindu friends (I’m not Hindu) chow down filet mignons like it’s their last meal. I think the best Indian restaurants are in DC and NYC, there are a few in Boston, but the palate there is considerably different.

hahaha i love where this conversation led to…
i love indian food too, but i’m not an expert on it… i do enjoy curry though ;)

Hahah yeah, “EA Discussion” thread is filled with food. God, I hope the AdComs are reading this stuff. Almost everything in indian food has curry lol

You’re welcome, everyone :)

almost two weeks left until early decisions come out! who’s terrified?

me me me!!! what school did you apply to @ElleBelle13?

do they mail the letter on the 15th or do we get it on the 15th?

we should get it on the 15th, last year they mailed it out on the 11th so some people got it sooner, and some people got it later

Guys, stop talking about this please. The suspense is killing me! Can we talk more about random topics??
