Class of 2016: EA/Regular decision discussion

So, who’s excited for an NBA season?

last year most people got their letters on the 13th! so if that holds for this week then that is only 2 weeks away!

My friend claims that she got an acceptance letter the day before Thanksgiving. I don’t believe her. Can someone assure me she’s lying?

Maybe Georgetown College in Kentucky?

She definitely has not gotten it by now.

Any idea when a Cali resident (Bay Area) should get it??

I’m excited for the NBA season. I miss fantasy sports. I won my league the last 2 years and I won my baseball league this year so I was rearing to go. I don’t follow football.

Oh, I called up the Admissions Office, she said that we’ll be getting them on the 15th. She wasn’t sure whether they were going to mail or e-mail Int. Applicants and that they were going to post when we could call up to find out whether we’re in or not on the G’town website soon.

One word. KOBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Same, I don’t follow football, only soccer (not MLS, real soccer) and to a lesser extent, basketball. The problem is that I literally have zero free time this semester. I have not turned on a TV on a weekday since the summer, which I guess is good but it’s pretty depressing. I was actually kind of happy this season wasn’t happening, because I wouldn’t be able to watch it anyways haha. Besides, the Wizards are a perpetual disappointment. I’m going to be spending this season just checking the scores online lol.

Same here. Too busy for TV.

lol “real soccer”, so which league do you follow? personally, i watch seria a but have the same problem of not being able to watch any tv this semester D:

Chance Me EA SFS:

SAT: 2260, 800CR / 690M / 770 W
ACT:33

White female

Homeschooled
4.0/4.0
15 college credits from duel enrollment at a four year university, all “A”s (to show I can be successful in a traditional educational setting) including Bioethics, Spanish, Macro and Micro Economics.
Most other high school education in a traditional setting (co-ops, etc).

Teacher letters: college profs (expect to be very good to excellent)
Essays: very good to excellent, but biased. Very unique (unbiased) 

Speech and debate all four years competed and qualified at the national level.
Violin for 10 years.

ECs:
I work one seven hour day per week at the State Capitol for a State Senator
Great letter of recommendation from another State Senator for whom I have done a lot of volunteering.
Volunteered by giving a semester of speech classes at a local public middle school that my brothers attend
I organize holiday music and sing-along concerts at nursing homes
Lots of volunteering at my church
300+ hours other volunteer work, mostly in the political arena.
Maybe a hook: Sibling with mental illness explained in counselor report makes it a very difficult situation at home but taught me a lot

I really hope they email international students rather than mail the letters, because the additional ~2 weeks that it would take to get here would kill me!

If senators are writing you recommendations, I like your chances. lol Your test scores validate your GPA. You should get in… But what do I know?

Yeah, I rarely watch TV any way, but this semester it seems like the only thing that I watch is the news and the Jets.

The Wizards should be exciting this year. Wall will hopefully develop more of an outside shot, and he’ll have plenty of finishing options. I like their draft; Vesely and Singleton should both be able to come in and contribute right away.

jj55014, with all due respect, if you want people to chance you, go to the “Chances” thread.

Ok. Please disregard everyone. I guess I didn’t read that part of the rule.

Yeah, your chances look good, but we’re trying our best to keep school off of our minds in this thread. This has become the prospective Georgetown students’ lounge/chatroom lol. Btw, for any of us who end up matriculating, we should reveal our identities to each other during orientation haha.

@therecordstore, mostly premier league/champions league, bundesliga to a lesser extent

If I go, I’ll probably room with one of you… There will be no parties/loud noises after 8 PM. Just a heads up.

Haha wiz, can’t wait to meet you, but I can assure you that we definitely won’t be rooming together if those are the conditions.

CuddleMeCozy, I applied to McDonough. What about you?
