I live in MA and I am really anxious!

dayummmm. I was talking to my dad and he thought they’d send em on Monday. It’s priority mail, right?

Looks like I’ll have to start guarding my mailbox. ;)

I don’t think they would get mailed out so soon. My interviewer said that they will still be doing interviews until the 9th of december, and that any interview done on or before that day will still be considered for EA admission. With that said, it wouldn’t make sense that letters would be in the mail already…

I hear that interviews are not very influential in the application process. Or perhaps your interviewer was mistaken.

Sooo nervous!

When do you think CA would get it?

When do you think NY would get it? Probably a day after DC kids right?

are we certain that they sent out the decision letters to everyone at the same time? because i always thought that they sent them out with waves, starting with the people in ca so people would get them at about the same time…

Cuddlemecozy, that makes a lot of sense! It would make sense if they sent out decisions in waves. But if they did then why would they still be considering interviews until the 9th. My interviewer told me that they will be making admission decisions until right before they mail them out. And I don’t think my interviewer was incorrect about anything because said that the senior associate dean of admissions told her that GU will be considering interviews even on the 9th of december. Hmmmm…this is very interesting

reallyconfused, the only reason I question that is that Georgetown, lover of tradition, has sent out EA acceptances on the same day for at least the last 4 years, the Friday before Georgetown exams start. It is possible for some reason they have decided to do differently this year, but for as long as I have been involved of Georgetown admissions starting with my own EA acceptance in 2007 and now as a member of the admissions ambassador program, decisions have been sent out today. Usually, Maryland and Virginia kids depending on their mail zone start to get letters Saturday. The Northeast and major cities in the Midwest around Monday, and West Coast major cities on Tuesday. They try to aim for everyone, no matter how rural getting their letter by the 15th. GAAP usually starts making calls on Tuesday congratulating East Coast students. Again this all just from past experience. It’s possible they decided to push things back a day.

Aghh it kills me that people find out on different days… being in California, I’m going to be freaking out, reading decisions on CollegeConfidential! Thanks for your insight, SFShoya!

@SFSHoya… So if they really were mailed out today, there’s a chance that I, a FL resident may get mine on Monday, probably Tues at the latest?? If so… AWESOME!

No worries, I’m currently writing a term paper and am happy to do something else. I am from California too, and my year there was a snow storm, so some of the letters got delayed. I found out on CC that some people had called to find out their decision because of the delay. Probably the scariest phone call of my life. I totally empathize. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

I don’t want to make any definite claims, but if the past is a reflection of the future. That should be about right.

SFShoya, when do you anticipate internationals will get their emails?

SFSHoya, I am sure that you know more about admissions than me. I was just stating what my interviewer told me. In fact, I hope that you are right! I am glad that decisions will be mailed out already. I do have one question though. I live in the northwest, so when do you think I will receive the decision letter? I worry that may take as long as the 16th-17th of December to get to me. Maybe I’m just worrying to much…

Sorry I don’t know much about international applications! Reallyconfused: they really try to get them there by the 15th but it is possible that it may be closer to the 16th. Again a lot of it depends on mail patterns. I was just trying to give a rough outline. Try searching in the forum for last years thread. I’m sure it gives a more complete picture.

usps’s website said that if normal mail was mailed out today in DC, they should arrive in the west coast (LA) on monday tho :o

Angelfanklo, I hope usps can get them to the west that quickly! That would be impressive! But I doubt it. USPS always takes forever to deliver stuff to my town. But we can all hope!! I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I have heard that students can tell if they were accepted just by looking at the envelope though. Apparently acceptance letters appear as if there are several pieces of paper within the envelope, and that rejection letters appear must thinner. Is this true?
