Class of 2016: EA/Regular decision discussion

can the people who got deferred or accepted type out what their letter says? I’m really curious! thanks!!

that’s an interesting idea - i feel like that would make me more anxious/maybe i want to read it for myself when it get it, whichever decision i get, but it would be nice to know right away which letter it is. could people who’ve gotten accepted/deferred at least post the beginning of the letter? like maybe just the intro so we can get the basic idea of what to expect?

for those who got rejected/or deferred. how many pages was your envelope. i know acceptance was 4

do you guys think it’s impossible for me to get in with a 2230 (CR:670, M:760, W:800)… GPA UW: 3.5 … i know this is a very low GPA but i take a lot of AP classes and i started off high school doing poorly and my grades have gotten better as the years went on. i applied into FLL and speak 4 languages fluently… i applied EA

I’m not as anxious as any of you guys because I know there is a less than 5% chance I get accepted even at RD, but for all the SVU fans, the first four episodes of The Wire are on HBO OD, and it is a much better crime show. :)

@ms2012: i think it would be hard, especially since your math + cr is only 1330 and you have a low gpa. do you have any distinguishing extracurriculars?

i’m syrian and i’ve done alot of volunteer work there… and im president of a few school clubs

There is no better crime show than SVU.

@cuddlemecozy how was your math? 670 + 760 = 1430

@djz750: haha im sorry! im kinda multi-tasking between studying for (ironically) my calc final and going on cc. 1430 will definitely raise your chances

sorry!!

how much do you guys think sat scores matter to gtown after a certain point? like i get that a low score could keep you out but how much does a good score help you? i have a 2350 but i’m worried by ECs may be a bit below par (they’re fine, i have leadership in 2 clubs and involvement elsewhere that shows focus on politics, but it seems like many people are more impressive than my in this respect) so idk which is going to be more important…

If I get my letter (in KY) tomorrow like I’m supposed to, it’ll be on my birthday.

Come on, Georgetown. Make my (birth)day.

Edit: Grammar clarification

I can just feel that single page envelope in my fingers…

svu literally is the best. and @cuddlemecozy, i’m studying calc too! how’s it working out for you? …mine isn’t going so well

haha… well… its going fine… hha jk
i can’t concentrate AT ALL. i’ll study for 10 min and take a “break” for like 30 min haha i wish today was monday!

same! now is not the time for triple integrals or conservative vector fields!

haha im going over parametric functions and cylindrical shells

haha just realized i should be studying for calc too- but i think i’m just going to accept that that isn’t going to happen…

It’s getting to the point where I’ve just resigned myself to not accomplishing anything until I get that letter… and probably after I get it too, but I’d rather not think of the state my grades would be in if I did that…

I got my letter yesterday and I got in! I am also from Maryland.

ACT: 33
GPA UW: 4.0
GPA W: 4.6667
