Lol lots of problems… I went semi-colon happy on my short answer, and while Id like to blame most of the bad interview on the alumnus, I did bomb the dreaded “tell me about yourself” and kept my arms crossed most of the time. I think I might have even forgotten to mention Georgetown is my first choice.

oh wow i didn’t even realize they sent them out! was there some type of announcement? i guess that means they don’t email

I’m getting incredibly nervous about this as I have literally no idea how high of a chance I have of being accepted. Honestly I think I’m more qualified than the average person that’s accepted, but that’s not taking into account race or the fact that GTown accepts a zillion dunderheads from Catholic schools. Best of luck to everyone though. Just to see how competitive it’s looking this year, what are your guys’ SAT scores? I have a 2230

haha. I’ve always heard that the first application is the worst, so it can only get better. And at least you got the “tell me about yourself”… tho my interviewer was very nice. I’m just curious… Did you send a thank you card to your interviewer?

My interview ended up being 2 and a 1/2 hours long! Did you guys talk more about yourselves or did you just end up having a really detailed conversation? Mine was more of the latter

2200 SAT, but I’m relying on my 34 ACT and 780 math 1, 760 chemistry, 740 literature SAT2, my grandfather’s a legacy and a little bit of a push from the soccer coach. Chances, anyone???

The application is definitely more than SAT scores, I’m not sure why people are only worried about that, if they’re decent and you excel in everything else don’t worry so much!

Although what am I saying…I’m freaking out.
My interview was more of a conversation. I remember we talked about the links between psychology, government, and statistics.

I never sent a thank you card. He informed me it was super casual and he honestly didn’t take it as seriously as I did.

Do you guys think that applying to sociology would help? I guess if they’re just looking that I applied to the college it wouldn’t, but then again I didn’t apply to a major that seems as popular as others.

I have a 2270 SAT; 1540 CR + M
My interview was only an hour, and I got the tell me about yourself question. I mostly rambled about my EC’s and answered questions rather than having a true conversation, but I did ask my interviewer about Georgetown and her life.

OMG I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF. lol

hey guys, so i have a 33 ACT, a 4.27 W, I had a good interview, my dad went to Georgetown med school, and I worked for a federal judge so he wrote one of my recs. Do I have a chance to get into the college?

goalstop, those are some pretty impressive scores, congrats.

yeah i’m kind of worried 'cause i’d only taken one SAT2 (780 in bio) by the time the app was due, so they only had that one to go by =/ And then when I did get my other scores in early November, I somehow thought it was too late and they wouldn’t be considered, a notion I didn’t realize was completely false until a week ago, by which time my application had probably already been fully reviewed.

what schools did all of you apply to?

whats bugging me out is trying to figure out how much being a black male will help me, any thoughts?

besides gtown, i’m applying to middlebury, tufts, brown, princeton, UVA, and W&M. my top 3 are 1) gtown 2) princeton 3) tufts

pretty pessimistic about my chances of getting into brown or princeton i hesitated to even put princeton as my #2. both my parents did go there though, my dad won some thesis prize idk, i really doubt a place like princeton gives two ****s about legacy though

my interview was 1.5 hours… tho the “interview” portion was painfully short and crammed in at the end. I got to mention my piano and political experience (so un-foreign-servicy). I didn’t even get the “do you have any questions.” (I genuinely had questions too!!! ) The only reason I sent a thank you card, is that I like making cards.
I’m relying on a 36, some 800s (tho in bio and math… my two least favorite subjects lol) and some political experience.
@jdolinger- that actually sounds really interesting.
@mdee94- It sounds like she wasn’t judging you, it was just the way she was. Don’t take it personally.
@goalstop and deepad89- I don’t know enough to offer you a chance. But those are excellent scores so I’m sure you’ll be just fine regardless of what happens. (its sounds cliche but its true)

honestly, being black probably increases your chances of getting in my two or three times haha. i know a black girl who had an 1860 and like a 3.7 unweighted and got in, so it’s obviously much easier

alright, great to know @kerplunkish, thanks. I’m applying to MSB w/ 700CR 740M; Student Body President. I hope that plus being URM puts me over the top, but we’ll see. I’ve had my eyes set on Georgetown for so long now.

I applied to the College.
The other schools I’m applying to are Vanderbilt, Cornell, Washington University in St. Louis, Lafayette, Rhodes, and the local state school.
I won the World Championship in FIRST Robotics last year and am VP of my high school’s science team which is 5th in the state. Unfortunately, I have no legacy, I’m white, and my class rank is like 21.

@bp94, I just looked at your letter from Georgetown. You’re in.
